*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

the original Sony official bluetooth headset

Bluetooth apart from certain sony official ones don't work.

so yours could be hit or miss, try it out and then sell it on if it doesn't work. If you want a proper setup look at the official PS4 headset guide thread.

You can get a good top setup for as little as £100 and then upgrade it as you like over the months/years to whatever level you want to go to.

I'm currently running HD 595's (£75 ish second hand), DX Clip on Mic (£1.56 brand new) and a 5.8 Mixamp (which is wireless and £70 ish second hand)

What is with the online storage has failed to upload notifications? Is that something to worry about. Switched ps4 on after about 4 or 5 days and had 4 notifications, all saying Call of Duty Ghosts online save-data could not be uploaded.

Seems a bug with the new firmware when you shut down the PS4 - just click on it and it will reattempt to upload the save to the cloud

ps3ud0

Someone streaming wolfenstein new order on live from playstation just now

I was watching this whilst waiting for MLB to install, which BTW is still not installed, MLB must have the strangest install routine I've ever seen.

Anyhow, wolfenstein looked like Rage but with Nazis instead... Looked ok IMO

So just got a ps4 and what's up with the download speed, did I just pick a bad time or something as it seems really inconsistent.

I'm connected to the ps4 via ethernet. I tried getting the trails fusion trial which is 5136MB and it said it said it would take nearly 8 hours, which around 150KB/s, ridiculously slow.

Cancelled it and tried again 5 min later and it said 10min and seemed to be grabbing it at 7-8MB/s (near enough my max speed), right up until the last 100MB, then dropped off again and went slow again :(, but as it was nearly done, I just waited it out.

Also is £35 about the best price for psn+, I never bothered with it on ps3, but need it here.

I purchased MLB 2014 from PSN and two hours later after I got the first part of the install I get to the game menu where it tells me whenever I try to start a game and select a stadium game data still downloading, its been stuck at 30% for hours, hmmm I'm not overly impressed, I don't really know what to do to get this game installed.

Is this meant to be the new play as you download method of playing digital games, as at the moment not impressed really.

This is the first true complaint I've had about Ps4

Edit - didn't know you could go to the application data screen in the PS4 settings screen. Game is just over 8GB installed of 42GB - its downloading at a crawl. So, that is for me no MLB tonight. Waited all those hours, play as you download doesn't seem to work as well as they boosted it seems.

a lot of games do this

you can usually only play like a "demo" of the game when it first installs.

it looks as if you have completed the full download and installed the full game because nothing shows up in notifications, but the fact is you have usually only installed 10% of the game at this point.

to see how much of the game has really been downloaded/installed you have to go to the main menu, highlight the game and select options and go to information, this is when you realise the game still has about 15 hours worth of downloading still to do.

hopefully sony bring out an update so it still shows in notifications that it's still downloading, because the current method IMO is stupid as I ended up re-installing a game multiple times as i thought the download file was being corrupted as I only had access to the demo teams and nothing else, no multiplayer, etc.

It does work but you just cannot play very much of the game making it pointless.

It's best to once it has installed checked the info and then stick the console in standby mode overnight.

if you have the console in standby mode iirc games don't install until you turn it on. so you could have a 40GB download the demo part of it could be 4 GB, you could leave the console on for 10 years and it will only download the first 4GB and wait for you to turn the console on to install it before then downloading the other 36GB in the background completely unknown to you because it shows as installed now in notifications.

so it's best to turn it on after a few hours to install the "demo" then put it back into standby.

So I just downloaded the Trials Fusion demo. Did I download the whole game? If I pay to unlock it will I be able to play it immediately or is there another file to download?

the demo usually is a completely separate file from the full game, but the full game usually installs a small part of the game so you can start playing it before the full game downloads, usually this small part of the game is exactly the same as the demo.

different developers do it differently though, this is what EA did with FIFA so it's anybodies guess as to how other companies do it.

Really looking forward to NHL being released on PS4 this year. Really upset it wasn't one of he launch games :(

Infamous and Madden 25 to play atm anyway and maybe Watch Dogs if I get it on PS4.
