I would really recommend stumping up for a genuine one for about £70, but the clones I had were a lot cheaper than £30 from China so I can't really vouch for that £30 one. The real thing is worth the money IMO
 
Is this the right place to ask if anyone has any decent but cheap recommendations for convection style vaporizers that can use flowers/herbs?

It's for aromatherapy purposes only obviously :p

Nope, no, this isn't the right place to ask.
Definitely don't Google the Volcano or look on Ebay for one.

I'd normally pounce down someone's throat for associating Vaping and "Recreational activities involving herbs", but it's been a productive day for raising funds for the RSM Hybrid kitty ;)
 
Since my SVD has started misfiring a couple times a day, I decided to prepare for the worst and got a nice big 1.2ohm coil in my other dripper and stuck that on my nemi clone. Works a treat so I now have an out and about setup and my around the house setup :)

I'm abit puzzled about kanthal and ohms.

E.g i'll be watching a vid where the reviewer will be using 28awg wire(which is what i use) and they'll do say 10 raps around a 1.5mm drill bit and get about 1.3ohms, so i think great i'll give that ago, but my coil comes out to 2.2ohms and to actually get 1.3 i only need to do 4 raps.

Is it a microcoil? If the coils aren't tight together (you need to heat them on your stove until they glow while squishing them together with tweezers) then the resistance can be much higher. It can be a real pain for exactly that reason when you break the coil while yanking old cotton out and the resistance goes through the roof.

Are you using a multimeter? if so you need to touch the two prongs together and subtract the reading from the resistance reading of your coil.

Thats my method, wind it as tight as possible then squash it together using the stove with tweezers or my MVP2 which i also use to check the ohms.
 
Correst me if I'm wrong but the resistance of the coil does not change whether its a standard coil, a micro coil or a Micro Nano Triceratops coil... The thickness of the wire and how much of it in length you have wrapped between the posts is what defines the OHMs.
 
That's what i thought, i've got a microcoil in my kayfun at the mo, i'm using 0.3mm kanthal with 5 raps around a 1.5mm drillbit and i get 1.4ohms.

With a microcoil you are essentially shorting all of the coils and creating a shorter path for the current to travel, so it lowers the resistance. That's how I understand it anyway.

Afaik this^
9 or 10 wraps of 28 awg (0.3mm) around a 1.5 nail gets me about 1.3ohms iirc
If they are not all touching you will get higher ohms
 
Need a good video guide on how to rebuild a Kayfun Lite as I have no idea.

Will be getting some silica and kantal wire with it.

Stepping into this blind could be a very silly to do! ha
 
I too would like to know a decent vendor that sells a wide range of fruit flavours.

Scopes I enjoyed the apple tart and peach, but the berrylicious and blueberry tasted very similar to the apple tart or atleast had this 'pastry' taste. (i changed coils and cleaned the tank before changing flavours)
