Redbridge is now Labour, great, now the borough will turn to ****. I look forward to back breaking Council Tax rises, social engineering experiments going wrong and costs and waste will go through the roof. I was thinking of moving to Loughton but i will wait and see if they try to ethnically cleanse the area of whitey like they did with Iiford :(

I live in Croydon, it has just gone back to Labour. It originally turned to absolute crap under Labour, then continued being crap under Tories and will now probably become ever crapper under Labour again :p

Are you a fly in the room of Labour Policy? Are you suggesting that they will make front line services worse to give an impression that the Con-Lib policy is causing suffrage? Or perhaps they will take the opportunity to do what's before for their district, or at least their voting base in said district...

You don't live there, you wouldn't.

Move into South Lambeth, or Elephant and Castle and let me know what you think.

I go to London once a month at least and have lived in multicultural places before (Luton being one). Seriously doesn't bother me, i'm not a xenophobe.

Regardless, the questions wasn't put forward to those who only live in London.

I've already asked, almost pleaded, multiple times for this point.

People are stupid and most just do not understand how it works.

I blame the media.

They should teach this in schools too final year, civic responsibility, would help too.

Agreed when the local councils don't stop all immigration and pull us out of Europe all those ukip voters will probably vote for other parties next time.

I read that 5 times now and it's still clear as mud. I thought my post was clear enough. They ruined Ilford and i hope to god they don't to the same with Loughton

People being different doesn't make me uncomfortable, but being hassled in the street does.

Well the fact that London is far more tolerant of immigrants than other UK cities might explain why that doesn't happen. Where is the incentive for immigrants to move up north if they are far more likely to face prejudice and issues?
If there was a proper immigration policy in place where it was only highly skilled people allowed to move here, I very much doubt any immigrant would receive any 'prejudice' :).

The majority of immigrants to the UK and indeed western Europe are not Professors or Aeronautical Engineers, they are in fact in the minority. The overwhelming majority are at best low skilled and only serving to increase the supply of labour in unskilled work, or at worst complete leeches - with the numbers and scale of both being tremendous and causing huge social problems. Neither of those categories need to be here and should never have been allowed in.

It's hilarious when people use America as an example of successful immigration. It seems that these people find it impossible to distinguish between the two categories of immigrants I described above. Until recently the majority of 'American' immigrants were moving to a land with a huge amount of space and natural resources, and bringing with them the knowledge, desire and technology to exploit them. These days immigration into Western Europe consists of people moving to an area with little space, little natural resources, and they bring with them absolutely nothing (and that's at best).

The type of immigrant like the German scientists who 'emigrated' to the USA after the war and subsequently got them to the moon are in a completely different category to 3rd world refugees and cleaners.

I know that the situation is different outside of London but London needs more than just professors and engineers. London's hospitals wouldn't be able to function without nurses, porters and cleaners from other parts of the world.

These aren't jobs that Londoners are willing to do because of the long hours and low wages. In theory, we could increase the pay for these roles and make them more attractive to Londoners. But who would pay for that? Would you be willing to swallow the rise in NI contributions? Would you prefer to pay more tax and let fewer immigrants in?

I always thought what people think on here wasn't a true reflection of what the country thinks as a whole and I'm right. The torries are pro corporation. They couldn't care a less about people. They'd rather see everyone rot for their gain. Get them out.

I'm all for skills/point-based immigration, provided it is opened up globally.

Unfortunately, I don't see any parties planning to do this, and we wouldn't be allowed to stay in the EU if we did, and I am still unsure if being in the EU is good or bad from a net impact perspective.

Hilarious.

The great cleaning famine of the 50s

Great trolling.

What kind of rot? Is it a breakdown in the cell structure or is it a kind of dry rot?

That's exactly what UKIP want.

A skill based system with no special preference for Eu members, an overall more equal system that would benefit the UK.

That's a flagship UKIP policy!

Yes, but I have no faith in their capabilities for anything else, and those anything elses are more important to the country as a whole than just the immigration thing.

If it's not Labour, it's the bankers. If it's not the bankers, it's the immigrants. There always needs to be a scapegoat to rally against, mob mentality pretty much requires it. And with mob mentality comes strength in numbers, and weakness in rationality.

I think other Eu countries are to vote today and they want them all released at the same time.

Voting continues until Sunday in different parts of the EU since each country follows their normal convention on voting date. The UK is unusual in holding polls during the week. Only ourselves and the Dutch voted yesterday.

As is the norm in all elections, no results can be announced until polling has finished everywhere.
