Update on broken seal 780ti's

Should be interesting to see how this thread goes come tomorrow. Can't say I've ever had a gpu from overclockers that appeared to be in an opened package.

Same nothing I've bought as retail so far has had the seals broken, not all the GPUs have been shrink wrapped but seems to be par for the course these days.

Graphics cards also don't have V5s that show previous owners ;)
Silly comparison is silly.

Yeah i know it's a silly comparison but it was compared earlier and you suggested a car having delivery mileage was the same as it being in a used condition (like the gpu's being discussed). You will never get a car with 0 miles on the clock. You should however get a GPU or any other piece of hardware unused and unopened by the retailer. You really are in love with OCUK aren't you.

I know you wont buy a new vehicle without a few miles :p My question was if Dice would complain if his new car/bike had miles on the clock (as its clearly been used!!)

Not in love, just bored ;)
Threads like these are a feeding pit for all who have had a poor service, and because of that you only get one sided arguments (the best kinds, come in with a different opinion and you get piled on :D)

Probably either works for them or is a fan boy which I really don't understand, It's a shop, Stop defending their actions FFS

Of course I would moan if my car or bike had a lot of miles on the clock, A car or bike that is new should have less than 100-200 miles on the clock, The 100-200 miles being test drives any more than that and it should be sold at a discount price, You have to understand you don't always need to settle for sub par quality which so far is the impression I'm getting from you.

Haha, you big troll :D The worst of it is, i've never actually received an open GPU but it does sound quite dodgy to me. It may be completely innocent but it's still a bit strange.

I'd not be happy if my gpu was opened. So far ive bought a 7970, two 7950's, a 7990 and two 290's from ocuk. None had been opened, although i was suspicious that the 7990 might have been. It went back faulty anyway as it was overheating. Thought they said it was within spec (105c lol) so i have to DSR it and lose out on postage.

I've never bought a new car, so can't comment. I like old 80s cars more than anything so <100k miles is good :D
New bikes, both have had less than 100miles on the clock.

What's sub par for you might not be sub par for me, what i don't understand with you is you're moaning about how it turned up, but have yet to make a complaint! Whatever though, i honestly don't care ;) I'm bored, that's all.

105c in spec

Again as someone else said your standards must be quite low if you would be happy and not bothered if a purchase came in a "not new" condition like I described and complained about above which you seem to think I never complained for some weird reason

And if you actually read anything instead of jumping over complete sentences ;) you would have seen many times that I said it turned up in an unacceptable condition i.e PCI-E strip thrown in the box, Finger prints everywhere and security seal peeled off and back.

Right, so why not complain to them directly rather than in a topic which may or may not be seen?

I don't understand what you're arguing about to be honest. Tone has said he wouldn't mind but you're saying that do mind? Right? So I don't think you're going to change his mind by repeatedly calling his standards low (which is IMO borderline offensive). You have different views on the matter but knock it on the head before it gets nasty.

Pssh, dude....complaining in this thread isn't the same as actually complaining. You have no guarantee anyone will even follow up your complaint unless you post it here as far as anyone is concerned you're just fueling the fire.

My standards are probably low, i don't know. I'm not easily ****ed off, pretty blasé about most things. I guess that makes me a bad person, or because i'm not joining in with the bashing and slating the company i must be in love with them

As long as it works as it should and came with warranty stickers intact I wouldn't be fussed tbh, not bothered about boxes being mint/fingerprints can be wiped off, the items that come with gpus I've never used once as I have my own cables and a good power supply so I don't need adapters.

That's just me though, I'm very easy going. :)

I bought a monitor recently, B grade though so obviously was an RMA return. It came with no screws or psu for the monitor (Not normal kettle plug, £20+) - Obviously this was different as it wasn't even usable, OCUK were quick to apologise and send out the required parts.

I have complained but it's sunday I dont expect a reply until tomorrow or tuesday and since this thread was made about broken seals I chimed in, End of.

What do people think happens to all the DSR's that get returned to companies?

Any Apple products that are returned under DSR are returned to Apple Distribution Center, cleaned up, erased back to factory standards, put back in a box with all the original accessories, re-sealed and sent back to the shop as new. The retailer doesn't lose out on anything.

If there's a mark that won't clean off easily then it gets sent back to China to have that particular part replaced so it's in a "new" condition.

He has every right to vent. I was mad too after it happened 4 times in a row. Also complaining to them directly wont do a damn thing, but posting up on here will.
