Hey guys, few quick questions, just had some srugery on my toe so I'm going to miss a month or two of the summmer and have to stay in doors (Up to 8 weeks healing process) and I'm thinking to pick up Diablo 3, so had a few question.

1) Whats a fun first class too start off with, I watched a few videos online and it seems the balance is really solid. There is a slightly favour towards demon hunters but it generally seems cool. So just wanted to know a decent class too start off with, that can hold its own when I solo and help me farm items pretty well for Alts.

2) Whats the best place to purchase this game, from my quick research it seems like I need ROS, so I will need to purchase the base game and ROS. Found that cdkeys.com is selling them at £19.99 each, anything cheaper?

3) Is there a decent guide online that well help me cover the bases off the game, and what items I need to farm and where.

Anyways thanks for answering any questions guys, not allowed out the bed this week so going to buy it after that so I'm not to tempted to leave the bed and game xD haha.
 
class wise i think crusader and witch doctor are the top 2 atm. it all depends on what you want really, demon hunter and wizard are ranged, crusader, barb and monk melee, wd is a kinda pet or dot build. personally, my main was a monk - it was the single most fun class i've ever played in these type of games. then loot 2.0 and ROS hit and they ruined it :( so i started a wd and it was great :)

not sure re prices but you will need ROS (it's well worth it). info wise, reddit is a good source, there is a sub reddit for every class and loads of info. worth checking out for sure.
 
Monk may get buffed in 2.1 though from all accounts.

I agree that Crusader and WD are strong right now, and both classes have more than one T6 viable build. However you know what blizz are like and they could nerf them both any minute!

Going to upload another video of my "Nuke it from Orbit" crusader build that I found works pretty well!
 
Yes there are changes coming to Monks with 2.1, that has been confirmed. What hasn't been confirmed is when 2.1 is going to land. For what we know it could be this Christmas. Until then I guess i'll just have to play gimmicky builds if I want to have any reasonable speed clearing T6 rifts solo.
It is pretty disturbing that my zdps monk clears T6 rifts quicker than either of my fully geared fire and lightning ones do, with or without unity...

iirc :
DPS- 100k - 200k
Tough - 3-5 mill should more than adaquete
Gear - all Level 70 of course :) Start with yellows to Legendaries and sets as you progress. It will all depending on your class or kind of build you are playing.
In general try and get trifecta stats where possible.

Just used some gear i had in my stash and rerolled a few things to get her going,really fun class to play.
Yesterday i got TMF and MoJ within a minute :D.Then today just before leaving for work i decided to spend some shards and got Uhkapian on about 6 buys :).Just need some rerolls then maybe TnT and Rhen'ho.

I was pretty similar to Kyo I think; 300k dps, 3mil toughness or something similar as a DH. I started T1 with a legendary crossbow and level 70 yellow everything else pretty much. Got a Garwulf's and a Calamity pretty early on and went on from there.
 
Thanks for the feedback guys, just brought D3 and ROS, will start playing tonight. Checked out some more videos and WD looks like a lot of fun lol, I will give it a go and see how it goes.
 
Yeah agreed with Kyo's numbers as a rough guideline. As your dps goes up you can definitely get away with sacrificing some toughness as you kill stuff so quick. My wizard can cope with T2 with only 2.5m toughness, but she's got around 1m dps.
 
I'm really really confused with my WD. Can someone please provide some further advice?

I understand that pet builds are the best build to go for so this is what I've gone for so far.

Should I change anything? What sort of gear sets should I go for? I understand I need to get tall mans finger and theo and tasker. What off hand should I go for? I new realise that thing of the deep isn't the best choice. Not sure what %ele damage I should be getting.

Thanks for the advice, my dmage is 167k and toughness is about 4.9 mill.

I'll give T1 a go then :)

Grab the Offhand that i'm using, Uhkapian Serpent, as it spreads your damage to your Dogs.
For +damage, you can either get +Phys% or +skill%. For mine i'm getting +Summon Zombie Dog damage, and +Phys% damage on items that allow it.
 
Now I can do T6 it feels like theres nothing left to do. I dont fancy leveling another class and going through the grind again.

Give T7 already \o/

i'd +%phys, your fetishes do physical damage and they do most of your damage. Depending on rune dogs do fire damage as does the garg. you've got a pretty good setup by the looks of it, what T level are you trying?

personally i don't use dogs, i have none of the defining gear pieces (T&T, SMK, SoJ/unity, tall mans finger, rheno flayer) but i have optimised my gear as far as i can without crafting everything again and i can do t4.
