BMW and M Power Owners

Yeh i did that but i also damaged the skirt which i replaced with the M-Sport ones in the end. The jacking point does indeed just clip into place.

the noise it made when I did it made me think id ripped the skirt off too, but fortunately just the jacking point and also a little of what I think is a undertray of some kind

I had a great experience with the dealer when looking for my M5, very helpful and didn't resist too much in the negotiations.

In contrast, I was in the Jag dealership recently pretty much ready to buy the XJ ss only to be sneered at and treated like a piece of crap by their sales *****.

I've never had any problems with the guys in Sytner Coventry, great service every time.

Strange how dealerships vary so much from place to place. I was in our local Jag dealership a week or two back (Lancaster Sidcup) looking at XJs and expected to be completely fobbed off due to my age, but instead they were extremely accommodating (albeit slightly desperate). In contrast, the E46 went in for a service earlier this week with Stephen James Ruxley who barely made eye contact with me the entire time and gave off the vibe that I was being an inconvenience, despite me paying them for something.

Seen a nice 58 plate 335 coupe, what's the deal with updated iDrive again?

It's got the newer looking control knob and the screen shot of the screen looks to be the newer one, but was there a further upgrade to HDD?

Over 60k so warranty is a little more, but seemed a decent price. Only thing is I was all set on an auto, now I'm not so sure...

So i've applied for a job last week and had an interview yesterday, hoping to hear back from the employer, if I get the job, i'm gonna be in a position where i'm able to spend around the 10k mark.

I've really got a soft spot for these, PH 645

I think perhaps waiting until you've settled in at the job is more prudent than planning a £10k 10 year old V8 BMW purchase just because you put in an application :p

That one has the newer CIC iDrive, yes.

Cool cheers for that :) Other downside is no sub 60k cheaper warranty, however it seems to be priced a fair bit lower than other later models which makes up for that.

And I like them in white ;)

I've had the interview, just awaiting the response, doesn't harm to look though :(

My warranty is coming up for renewel and have just got them to replace the headlight washers that were sticking out, but cant decide wether its worth renewing my warranty or not, 2006 330d with 90k, not exactly sure how much but was £700 or so last year but I've had probably double that in claims......

I plan on keeping the car for a bit longer and my only concern is the gearbox or turbo packing in.

At 8 years old and 90k you're getting close to the start of potential turbo time I'd say.

Then again, how much is a recon turbo for a 330d? (Not with BMW labour)

Renew and it will last the life of the car, don't and it'll explode the next week.

As posted in the show me your car thread, bought not just my first BMW but first car.

Can't wait to pick it up on sunday :D

Me again, still looking :(

Thoughts on this 325?

I'm now sold on a 3 series ci, especially on those wheels, so do you guys know what size tyres they take and approx. how much 4 corners or something reputable is?

Not bad for a first car!

Hmm, disagree. Disproportionate expense and its just not worth it, especially as a first car. Other than fuel economy and insurance (Which is still going to be hugely expensive) you are basically paying 330i running costs for... a 316i.

Something without the badge for 18 months - Fiesta or whatever - then a move to a nice 330i would have been a far better plan IMHO.
