Who will rule Westeros?

The children of the forest were the first people in what is now known as Westeros. The First Men came to Westeros and warred with them, cutting down their trees and so on. The children flooded the neck, turned trees into warriors (like Ents I suppose) but ultimately were losing the war to the bigger, stronger, better equipped men.

Eventually they agreed to a pact where the men took the open lands and the children took the forests. The First Men took on the gods of the children, now called the Old Gods. The Gods of the North.

Then the Andals came, ruined the lot of it, and introduced the Seven Gods (Mother, Stranger, Maiden, Crone, etc).

Loved this last episode so much good stuff happened to set it up for the next series... Just hope it goes over fairly quickly!

Only thing that worries me is the reviews of the next book are generally not as +ve as its predecessors! (I've not read it yet)

Amazing episode.

Hoping Arya is going North and not over to Braavos. If she eets up with Jon at the wall it will be incredible for season 5.

So I've just started book 3 now, about 200 pages in. I'm in a real predicament here, I don't want to stop reading, but at the same time don't want to ruin the show! Thoughts? Can I safely read up to the end of book 4 without spoiling much?

I felt that Varys was just giving Kings Landing one final look before getting on the boat. Surely by helping Tyrion escape he was burning his bridges and needed to go with him.

Varys has made it clear from the beginning that his main goal is peace in the realm. Maybe he realised that can't be achieved with the Lannisters in charge and is going to seek out Dany to bring back Targaryian rule.

Kind of annoying that they sort of killed the Hound and Tywin but weren't clear on if they died - Hound was obviously not dead at the time although Twyin did seem to be (lets not get into the Mountain debate again on this one! :))

Talking of the Mountain - it seems like he's going to live but will be some sort of super mutant. My guess is Cersi is going to rule (via Tommen) and Mountain will be her mutant henchman.

Not sure if explained but what was Stannis doing up North? Has he gone to recruit the wildling army? Or gone to save the wall? I know we saw him in Bravos (i think) asking for cash monies, but not sure if he got it.

Can someone fill in a blank for me as i lost connection to Sky Go during the show.

Just as Arya and Brienne met - they had just started talking and then i lost connection. Switched back on the see Brienne and the Hound fighting. What led to the fight?

Brienne tried to talk Arya over, saying how she swore an oath to her mother etc...
Seemed like it was going ok, then the hound came along and said she looked like she was paid by the lannisters, and Brienne admitted that her sword was given to her by Jamie, then they fought.

Well fingers crossed that won't be the case, can't see it being anyhting other than great though :)

Thought the captain said they were going home and when asked where that was he said Braavos, which is why she gave him the coin as it had to be someone from Braavos? So i got the impression she was definitely on her way to Braavos.

When Ser Davos was learning to read he came across the note that was sent out by the Nights Watch so when he had his money and therefore his army he could head up there to help out.

Hound pointed out she had a sword made from Lannister gold, Hound didn't believe Brienne had Arya's best interests at heart.

From memory, yes, you can read on without any real spoilers (some of the series in in book 4 now). HOWEVER, I'd suggest you do not read the epilogue if you're worried about spoilers.

It was also forged from Valyrian steel from Ned Starks sword, but its unlikely Arya knew and I doubt that would have gone down all that well :D.

I'm not sure. She asked to go North, and they refused to take her and said they were heading to Braavos, then she showed the coin and they agreed, so I'm not sure if they're dropping her off there on the way.

Don't really see what use she'd be in Braavos, there's nothing for her there except maybe reuniting with Jaqen Hagar.

She's going to Braavos... pretty obvious really.

Showing the coin got her passage (and a cabin) on the ship, there was no mention of the ship changing destination. Looking back at previous series and the conversations she had with the faceless man, there is a good reason for her to go to Braavos.

Don't know if anyone knows for certain, but when Tywin was on the khazi, he said to Tyrion that he would never have let him be executed and he would never let Ser Illyn Payne take the head of a Lannister.

I know this was said mostly for self preservation, but I can't help wondering whether or not Tywin was telling the truth and he would have stopped Tyrions execution somehow.

Tywin also said 'you are my son' and 'you are no son of mine' in the same exchange :p

I wouldn't read too much into it.

Could be I'm not sure, I just assumed that's what she was going to do, meet up with Jaqen and learn how to be awesome :D

Could be that Tywin was having second thoughts about killing Tyrian after what Cersei told him. Imagine we'll probably never find out!

I'm thinking the Maester will resurrect him as a white walker, hence the clear "oh no" with a hint of a smile when Cersei asked if it would weaken him.

Can't wait to see how the plot lines continue from here. Can't believe we've got to wait so long for the next season! :(

He's no Maester, and creating a White Walker (if that's what you meant) in King's Landing would be interesting :D
