What did you do to your bike today?

I had my gsx1100 motor in my living room for rebuild in my first flat and the rest of the bike in bed room only had one set of stairs to climb so not to bad needed 2 of us to carry the lump.

When I lived at home many moons ago I replaced a primary chain in a z500 in my bed room I smuggled it in mum was not very happy she would keep saying "what's that smell I am sure I can smell oil" good mum :D

I have a garage for such things now.

you ever had any chains snap? ive had two,and one was a split link, just filtering in traffic I heard a crunching sound, and pulling away fast from lights snapped the other

Sounds like you aren't maintaining them correctly then, lube and not too tight/slack.

Chains snapping at speed can be disastrous, taking out legs and crank cases.

one was a cheap splitlink chain, luckily is decided to eat itself while filtering slowly,it was the actual splitlink that failed

the other was a riveted chain but it did have a mild tight spot in it,and when I gunned it at the lights off it came few yards down the road, luckily it didn't tangle up or do any damage, they were both oiled and correct tension

both on my zx6

but yeah they had been run a decent time so could have done with changing

Took the Bonneville out for a blast yesterday, scraped her footpegs on a couple of corners which got me thinking about trading her in again.

Since the Daytona was a bit too extreme for day to day riding, I'm thinking maybe a Street Triple.

I like to ride my bicycle I like to ride my biiiike

Cleaned a load of bird **** off my seat after parking up at work under a telephone wire.
I swear it must have been an eagle there was that much on there..nicely baked on by the sun.

Oddly enough, I made friends who is best mates with the guy who came up with R&G so now I get an insane discount on any of it's stuff. Pretty cool, but I've never had any thing like it on any of my bikes... I should really. HUGE money saver if dropped.

So you are who we need to come to for discount? ;):D

Tried starting it for the first time in 14 months. New battery, new plugs. No danger it was starting though. I think it will be the same as the last time I left it for about a year, the fuel has gone stale and evaporated, leaving moisture in the tank. Will need to drain it all out, ditch it and replace with fresh stuff which is a pain in the backside before trying to start it again. :(

Not done anything to any bike, as i dont own any form of motorised transport first time in 25years , its quite liberating in a twisted way, (i have use of a car but technically its not mine the mrs :) ) But been looking to replace the RC8 and chuff me i new buying bikes mid season was more expensive but this year its gone through the roof. Seriously are dealers utterly delusional at this time of year, some private sellars as well. MADNESS I TELL YE.

Not done owt to my bike apart from put untold miles on it & continually clean the poxy flies off it.
