There's been a lot of talk since the season ended, which isn't particularly unusual.

If I were you I wouldn't want him selling at any price (unless there's a clause you can't avoid).

Sanchez is probably the closest to how Suarez plays, we should be looking at him anyway :) (I'd be concerned if the big 2 in Spain weren't looking at him though, best player in the world this season IMO)

Would be interesting to see how this clause works. Playing FM here but 50mil + Sanchez, providing he wants to come would be good business for me. Use the 50 plus the reported 40 we have to spend on some key positions.

There has been a massively escalated amount since that game.

Obviously, you don't want to sell the worlds best player of the last season, especially if you do **** all like spurs when you get a load of money

Yeah, flurry of news out of Spain saying we're due to announce the signing of Herrera soon. He's expensive but worth the gamble based on ability (in my opinion, that is).

£31m expensive - you must be kidding, hardly even trying:D

Im not sure if it all originated with the DM but sounds like Southampton are trying to squeeze an extra £10m out of Utd for Luke Shaw

From initial reports that Utd were reluctant to go from £27m-£30m , I cant see how Utd are ever going to agree to pay another £10m (which of course is what Southampton want anyway)

Rio Ferdinand? I'm sure there's cheaper, younger and better out there but then Redknapps clueless.

But remember Redknapp and his dodgy deals - 5% of Rio's weekly wages ending up in his back pocket in a nice fat envelope :D

Also laughed at some website proposing Nani convince Carvalho to join Utd, that is SO unlikely to happen - but if there is any truth to AC (I think) offering £12m for Nani, Utd should bite their hand off lol

I've spent some time thinking about this in the last few days and I actually think that now might well be the right time to sell Suarez.

He is what..28? this coming season. At that age, its entirely likely that he will never again be worth the amount of money that is being talked about currently. Also, I would say its unlikely that he will have as prolific a season this season as he had last season and given his temperament I do wonder how he will react if he struggles to emulate last seasons scoring.

Right now I think we could get either an enormous sum of money for him, or a big sum of money plus a really really good player in part exchange.

He was outstanding for us last season and is a rare talent, but I cant help but think that now is the time to sell the goose that lays golden eggs, whilst they are still gold.

Selling him would be madness. I doubt you would have finished in the top 4 without him last season and I bet Sturridge doesn't get 15 goals with him gone or anywhere near whet he got this year. 28 is nothing, you could easily get 5 more years out of him. What's better 60/70/80 or whatever million or a player than get's you CL football and draws other players to the team?

No way should you be selling him. He's the 3rd best player in the world.

Sounds like he will most likely end up at Barca with Madrid getting Falcao

Herra picking up a lot of steam now and Balague seems to think its about to happen

Guillem Balague @GuillemBalague · 6m

What a great signing by the way. He is as good as number 10 or centre mid. A clever player, an intelligent young man this @anderherrera8

Guillem Balague @GuillemBalague · 8m

Manchester United will pay the 36m buy out clause of Ander Herrera (1st July he would have cost 40m). 2nd time round, Utd will get his man

Thing is..it may not be that simple. If he decides that he really doesn't want to be in England any more and wants to be at Barca or RM, he could just decide to down tools. He "could" stay for 5 more years, but all too often the superstars of football just don't stay with English teams for even 5 years. Theres no guarantee that he will get 20+ goals for us this coming season, even less so if Barca/RM came knocking and we refused him the move.

Everyones viewpoint is different of course, but I'd be reasonably content with a big lump sum plus Alexis Sanchez for example, though there are other players I'd be happy with too, and flesh the team out more with the cash for the CL campaign.

I am not convinced at all that he wants to stay and I personally expect him to push a move through after Uruguay are out of the WC.

Suarez talk is interesting as he actually confirmed himself that there was no release clause for Madrid/Barca.

While I would rather keep him, he clearly wants to leave at some point, so if we can pull off Sanchez + Pedro + £30-40m, I think we should do it.
