Golf R - Test Drive

I didn't go for it either after reading into it, am probably going for something rather less 'fun' and boring for a while anyway now, boo.

Spotted my first Golf R parked on a side road today. Was a blue 3 door version.

It looked pretty boring tbh. The only thing that stood out were the large wheels and discs.

I think the last R32 had more of a presence... The current R just looks (at a glance) very much like a normal golf.

I'm praying my order at VS doesn't get cancelled.

Already got it in the VW tracking system so hopefully I'm far enough along!

I emailed VS yesterday to check they had received my admin and GAP insurance fee which they had.

They haven't said anything else to me! Did you email them to ask about it?

No Response i have paid my admin fee since 6th when i ordered

3 options as i see it..

1) stick and possible VWFS may resolve to a slightly more amicable decision
2) Refund admin fee/cancel and move on
3) Pay the worst case £36 extra p/m

Many options but i will stay as i am for now as this get's played out, nothing has been set in stone

I am sure you are all aware of the issues surrounding the current offer on VW Golf R, please be assured we are working as hard as we can to try and resolve this, we are still waiting to hear back from VWFS with regards to an alternative on the terms, in the mean time we have also been looking at alternatives with other finance companies ourselves, currently we have found a supplier which depending on the deal you were going for is anywhere between £23 - £30 + vat more per month, which I’m sure you will all agree is still a good offer on this particular car.

Please note we still have all these cars on order, we have not yet cancelled any of our orders until we have all of the facts, please also note that if you do not decide to proceed and have already paid your admin fee this will be refunded to you. please also be advised there will be no cancellation penalty if this is the case either.

If you already have a build week and we change the finance company this will not alter the lead time on your car as this will still be for the same car already ordered for you but switched to an alternative funder.

As soon as we know all the details we will be in touch, please bear with us and like I said we have the alternative one to fall back on.

If you fall into the category as a sole trader and can provide evidence of this then you will still qualify for the original deal, what they require as proof is one of the following:-
ü Business bank statement or
ü VAT certificate, or
ü Tax Return in self-employed name
or
if you can process the deal in the name of a business instead we can switch this over and the deal will also still be valid.
Some of you may have already done this so please don’t worry as these would have been dealt with already.
If you want to swap to the alternative deal let me know if not we can wait and see what happens with VWFS and then decide from there.

Kind Regards

I just got that email through, I'm going to ask how much extra for my specific example firstly so I can work out the extra.

However, I think VWFS have screwed up surely and therefore I think they should honour the deal.
