can't see how it can, totally seperate things

Do FIFA/UEFA have any influence over the FA/Premier League? They must have some.

I could see a scenario where he gets a very long ban, and perhaps a fine too, that covers all competitions. Whether it'll actually happen or not, I don't know.

Suarez.... absolutely a top 3 player in the world..... because of the top 40 players in the world 3 are murderers, 10 have broken other players legs and 20 have served a lengthy ban in each of the past 4 seasons...........

oh wait.

Didn't Liverpool drop 4 points while Suarez was banned, and lost the league by 2 points..... Which other players got 10 match bans at all, which got lengthy bans for biting. Did his bite directly cost Liverpool the league? Top 20 players, you always wonder if their 10 game bans cost you the title.

They can, but in most cases it will apply to like for like competitions after a player moves. IE if Suarez got himself a 10 game ban in the league for the next season but moved to La Liga, they can impose the ban on La liga instead. I think if there was a ban in the cup it, I think it's happened and it didn't carry over in some situation because there wasn't a like for like competition? Something like Spain have a league cup but not a FA cup, so someone had a ban in the FA cup but didn't serve it after moving.

But I think in general internationals are treated separately to league.

Saying that, Rio's drug ban, did that count for england and Utd, I think so. But are drug bans dealt with by Fifa/FA or some independent drugs panel thing, I don't know. In general drugs are treated as all encompassing bans in most sports while other bans tend to be limited to the area the offence occurred in. I wouldn't be surprised if it only effected him playing for Uruguay.

So Arsenal not signed anyone yet? Any ideas who we will be signing? Last I saw balotelli rumours. But I wonder if he would be suitable signing for us?

Dejong has had a great world cup and would only cost £6m would be well worth it and could still get Strootman in January aswell adding more flexibility to LVG for midfield

I might be wrong but before he left City ( one valid reason not to get hi, for Utd right there lol) he frequently got stupid yellows / reds for being too slow or over zealous im the tackle and the Epl certainly hasnt got slower simce he left while in all liklihood he has.

Imternational football is played for the most part at a completely different pace

Not sure Utd should wait around just incase strootman recovers as expected

Everyone likes a BBC link:

Manchester United are set to sign £30m-rated Ander Herrera from La Liga club Athletic Bilbao.

The Premier League club failed to buy the Spanish midfielder, 24, on transfer deadline day last summer.

But new United boss Louis van Gaal has revived the deal, which is expected to be completed within the next 24 hours.

Herrera, part of Spain's Olympic squad at London 2012, would become Van Gaal's first signing since the Dutchman replaced David Moyes as boss in June.
Until the arrival of Marouane Fellaini from Everton last summer, United had not signed a central midfield player for six years.

However, with the Belgian failing to score a single goal last season and Ryan Giggs deciding to retire to become Van Gaal's assistant, United appear keen to strengthen.

United encountered problems trying to sign Herrera almost a year ago, namely when three imposters turned up at La Liga headquarters in an attempt push through the transfer without the knowledge of either club.

In the end, Herrera remained at Bilbao.

United are set to pay about £30m for Herrera, whose transfer fee was due to rise on 30 June under the terms of his contract.

Hope he'll do well for us. :)

Haha I remember that, that was brilliant :D

Toure has spoke why he was deciding whether to leave City and can't blame him pretty disgusting by City

https://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/news...pped-seeing-dying-brother-085904138--sow.html

Supposedly Aguero was let out of that trip for simple sponsorship duties, he had some stuff to do for one of his personal sponsors. Likewise City have allowed multiple players off and Mancini and Pellegrini for compassionate leave, they let Tevez, Zabaleta, Adebayor time off for varying reasons and Toure himself says he never asked to not go. LIkewise was he forced onto a plane at gun point, he left with them and said nothing basically. At worst City didn't force him to stay, but who knows if they were aware he was potentially going to die soon. Didn't stop him going to the world cup, didn't complain that Ivory Coast didn't let him come late, didn't actually ask City to not go to Dubai.

Everything being said about it is they've been incredibly supported of the family throughout his brothers illness.

What this all seems to add up to is more basically lies and manipulation from Toure, and the fact he's using his brothers death to seemingly still force a move from the club who pay him a ridiculous amount, so he can I presume sign a new contract elsewhere for even more money.

It's looking more and more likely that the only disgusting thing happening is Toure using his brothers death to attempt to make more money.

What possible reason would City have for dragging their star and I think most highly paid player to a sponsorship thing upsetting im on purpose? It sounds as baseless and stupid as the birthday cake utter nonsense.

I've gone off Yaya as a player in general, he's lazy and frequently goes missing for huge spells of games and is IMHO massively over rated, scores some great goals and can be incredibly when he wants, but all the nonsense off the pitch makes him come across as a complete ****.

He will do well he is one of my favourite players alongside Iker Muniain because im a sucker for tippy tappy and he can roll a pass off your boot for a one two like no one i have really seen before. :D

He is like a little bull at times and brave and his vision and creativity is top class the only downside to him is his long range Xavi/scholes type passes. United should have bought both two years ago after the Europa Cup loss to Bilbao though i was screaming it at the time. Now he will be 25 in August and has not really came into the Spain team either nor has Muniain because no top club bought them. I would have paid £40m for them both back in march 2012 but Fergie wouldnt of. Also were paying £30m now when apparantly Moyes was trying to get him to come on a free transfer in 2015 when him and Muniains contracts expire.

Muniain,Herrera,Robben,Strootman,Daley Blind how much do you think they would cost combined because i feel those are the sort of players LVG is looking at. The likes of Kroos,Modric,Fabregas it seems are now players out of our reach. It could be worse though it could be someone English and he will keep Mata and De Gea happy as i have a feeling he might break into the spain national team after Xavi Iniesta certainly in the central midfield area he is not far off Koke,Irramendi,Thiago who are probably going to be the future trio. I even think young Oliver Torres is a better prospect now than Ander Herrera as well due to his age and value.

I think we have to sell Suarez now really, enough is enough. Of all the things to do , to bite..yet again. He's a supreme talent but really we need a season ahead with as few chains around our necks and this bite will be a huge chain throughout the season. Liverpool just don't need repeated controversy with the season coming, being as tough as it already will be.

We need to sell him now, take a dollop of money and alexis sanchez from barca and be done with it.

I hear that Liverpool are having a meeting today to discuss the Suarez situation, I'm hoping for a proactive outcome from that.

Do you really think that Barca will come anywhere near him now? They made a massive error with the Neymar transfer and dragged the clubs name through the mud so I doubt they would be buying Suarez.

He will probably be banned for a long time if found guilty and you will be stuck with him at least while that is served. I can't imagine too many sides will pay big money for someone who repeatedly self destructs.

Seems Herrera will be confirmed on Friday only took 6 years to sign a cm :)

I've not seen a massive amount of him but when Bilbao turned up in the CL game at OT you could see he was a tidy neat little player, something we've needed for a fair few years.

Get a destroyer (Carvalho etc) in next to him and we'll be sweet.

I think it will depend upon what the punishment for this is, if he ends up being banned for the remainder of the world cup, but no wider ban, then yes I still think that they would buy Suarez. I think their desire to overturn Real Madrid would make them dismiss the issues surrounding him.

Part of the issue that surrounds him is that at any time he may be banned for a lengthy period. If you are trying to win things then you can't really afford to lose your star striker at some random point.

Really, what does this ban particularly matter, what matters is what he did. Even knowing he was chasing a move to Real/Barca, knowing that behaving would probably make him disgustingly rich and a move to one of the biggest clubs in the world and a chance to win everything every year... he still couldn't stop himself behaving this way.

Does it not indicate he can't change his ways, and that regardless of how long this ban is, there WILL be another incident and there WILL be another ban. That might be 5 games at the start of the season, Liverpool dropped 4 points in those games and lost the title be 2, what if it's the end of the season and he misses a couple cup finals and they lose the title in the last game of the season.

It's more proof he will never change. Barca would be stupid to buy him but Barca have never shown an awful lot of integrity or sense... just look at the Neymar deal that will potentially cost the club 150mil after being fined for evading the tax on the deal.

Please don't pay £40m for Shaw. I thought £27m was a bit over the odds, clearly there's something in the water down in Southampton.
