It was more or less confirmed last night he'd submitted the money to the LFP, but the last thing I saw was that there was a problem that was being sorted out - no idea what the problem is though.

Supposedly we offered £28.8m direct to Athletic without activating clause, to avoid taxes. They want us to suffer & pay tax.

They have nothing to reject United have not offered them they are buying out the exit clause it's just them trying to say we don't sell even if there is nothing they can do it about it

A.Herrera: As usual with Athletic, they reject United OFFER...which means Utd will have to pay buy out clause. He WILL be an Utd player

It is a way for Athletic to say: we dont sell, they get him away from us and we cant do anything about it. Politics

Fernando to City looks set to be done, Porto have said a deal is confirmed for 12m.
By all accounts a really good player and a decent price. Will be interesting to see if he plays alongside Fernandinho and Yaya if he stays ahead of them or what Pellegrini will do.
Done deal now.

Looking forward to seeing him play.

So would the Liverpool fans be happy with a deal for Suarez off to Braca with Sanchez and possibly one other or lots of cash coming our way?

Marca apparently reporting it.

Barcelona have made an important step towards signing Luis Suárez for next season. The 'Azulgrana' club has received a 'yes' from the Uruguayan, who wants to become part of Luis Enrique's team after the summer.

That has been Bartomeu's trump card in securing the player's commitment over interest from other teams, Real Madrid among them. A commitment that includes the potential to put the pressure on at Liverpool in the event that the English club dig their heels in and refuse to compromise on their expectations.

The starting figure for negotiations is €87.5 million - the buy-out clause for Suárez. Barcelona will not stretch to that and is trying to bring the price tag down.

Hence they are considering the possibility of including other players in the deal. There are several contenders, such as Alexis, Pedro, Tello or Song. The 'Azulgrana' club has an extensive list of players who could go. In principle, Barcelona would be willing to spend €60 million.

Suárez earns €10 million at Liverpool, but that would not be a problem because Barcelona is willing to be generous in that respect and he would then become one of their highest paid players.

The negotiation has taken on a new dimension after the Uruguayan took a chunk out of Chiellini. The incident did not go down well at Barcelona, but the club is still moving things forward. Real Madrid, on the other hand, have put the brakes on, now not interested in making a bid for the player in the light of his behaviour.

I'd accept it yes. Happy with it? I don't know, ask me again at the end of the season when I can compare how Suarez has done and Sanchez has done. But yeah, I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.

Why not? its not like Liverpool's only European tie this season is against Swansea:p

Herrera pays the buyout clause

The Football League has certified Athletic Club that player Ander Herrera Agüera has fulfilled the requirements of the applicable regulations valid for unilateral termination of the employment contract that bound him to our Club, by depositing today the amount of compensation established in the contract.

The Athletic Club thanks Ander Herrera for his dedication during the three seasons he has enjoyed the club and wishes him the best in his future sports projects.

Herrera is a done deal:

"In the afternoon, on June 26, 2014, the League of Professional Football Athletic Club has certified that the player Aguera Ander Herrera has fulfilled the requirements of the applicable regulations valid for unilateral termination of the employment contract that bound him our Club. Said certification indicates that the player has expressed its willingness to extinguish and unilaterally terminate the contractual relationship that bound him since last July 11, 2011 and has deposited the amount of compensation specified in the contract. Athletic Club thanks the Ander Herrera dedication during the three seasons he has been in the club and wishes him well in his future sports projects. Following the decision of the player, Josu Urrutia President has made an initial assessment by our institution "The Athletic should aim for players whose first choice is to defend the jersey for club In this regard, the decision of Ander Herrera is not aligned with that idea, which is a disappointment for us.". Urrutia also stressed the following "In his day, namely to start the 2011-12 campaign, the Athletic Club joined Ander Herrera of Real Zaragoza and today, with existing contract and counting in our sports project, has taken the two conditions already known to leave entity, ie, wanting to leave the club and pay the buyout clause in his contract collection. Not a good time, but not in any way alter our philosophy and our way of conceiving the line that should work the Club. We have a squad with great players competitive potential, and continue on with the same determination. " Over the next week, date and time specific, Josu Urrutia President will offer a press conference."
