You're confusing him with Van Persie saying Rooney likes to take up the same positions which kind of ****es on your point about Rooney never staying up

Ahh yes that sounds about right, but does not really affect the point as it is a fact they both like the no 10 position, and that is the role Rooney plays.

It's a well discussed issue, with many questioning the purchase of mata in the first place given the very same reason as above.

probably rubbish but Gazzetta in Italy reporting that Juventus expect a €45M bid from United for Arturo Vidal. TuttoSport say £30M + Nani for Vidal

Fellaini should get another chance, don't think we've seen anywhere near the best of him plus he is looked at negatively as he reminds us of Moyes :o

Surely though next season we will have harrera and mata centre mid?
I think Fellaini will be better next year. he was great at Everton, and United fans really felt he was the midfielder they wanted. Still think he is good.
Fulham have sold Sacha Riether and signed Tim Hoogland from Schalke on a free transfer. Three in for a total of ~£200k so far, not too bad.

Apparently set to sign Alvaro Gonzalez tomorrow from Lazio as well - that'd be a brilliant signing if true.

Heard absolutely nothing about that! Not bad!

I would probably rather pay the €45m and keep Nani because he could still come good and we don't have a lot of good wingers if Tony V keeps playing as he has. Ashley Young is an embarrassment of a footballer and the less said about him the better.

Vidal is pretty much the perfect signing. No chance, though. :(

Pay them enough money and I don't see why not. The only reason I can't see us getting him is that someone else would pay more / be Real Madrid.

Juventus aren't exactly one of the best teams in the world and the Italian league is well behind the Spanish, English and German leagues.

Vidal would be awesome because we need a true number 6 now we have a 8 and 10 in Herrera but Real would be in there as said above with a £60m bid like always and United would walk away. I know we have a lot of money but Fellaini £27m, Mata £37m, Herrera £29m, Shaw £30m in the space of 12 months is a lot.

I wont be suprised if it starts to cool off now until January or next summer when we are back in Europe. LVG has 4-3-3 and 5-3-2 up his sleeve for just 38 games for fourth place. And with Shaw and Herrera to shore up what is already 13 good players then i reckon we can do it.

Rooney and RVP will play better togeather probably as a strike pair and the three behind them will probably be Herrera Mata Fellaini which is ok. The wingbacks are sound with Evra Shaw and Rafael and really its just the 3 man defence that might be suspect. But is Jones Carrick Smalling worse than Liverpool or Arsenals defence? This is why i am opposed to the Miranda deal as Hummels is worth saving and waiting for him and a number 6 is the final part of our starting 11.

Seeing how this is now the list players Man Utd should buy thread I would also like Luiz Gustavo.

Yeah it's a good start but we definitely need more, at least one more midifelder, a central defender and a winger really at the minimum. Depends who leaves as well.
