If Liverpool don't get Sanchez who do the fans want?

We'll line up next season, I expect, with:

Gerrard--Henderson

Coutinho--Sterling--Lallana

Sturridge

And Can and Allen interchanging as well. We need one more player who can play in behind, and one good (but not necessarily Suarez quality) striker who can rotate with Sturridge.

With that in mind, I'd like to see Shaqiri and Bacca.

I agree, I'd rather have an out and out striker, someone who just puts it in the back of the net! Sagna has to be replaced although I bet Carl will now be 1st choice. Gibbs......urgh. Flamini and Arteta are going to be pushing on and another year older (more injuries, longer to recovery etc) and we desperately need a big name to come in and be able to grab the midfield by the scruff of the neck.

Gibbs is so painfully awful doing anything it depresses me. He can't defend simple as that, he can't attack and has he just managed finally one half decent season in length without serious injury.

Flamini hasn't played really more than half a season since he was at Arsenal the last time. Arteta both seems to be injured more and more and simply not very good either. There are quite a lot of central midfielders about who can do a better job defensively and offensively than both of them.

Debuchy will no doubt be yours once France are out.

Debuchy doesn't excite me at all, though he calmed down a bit there are way too many games where he is in walking red card mode. He's okay but I really don't think he's anything special, better than Sagna isn't a particularly difficult thing to be. Meh, i just remember when we used to have fullbacks who could defend, and cross, and weren't god awful.

Seriously watch some highlights of Arsenal vs CHelsea, we got hammered down both wings, with both CB's exposed mercilessly by two crap fullbacks. As I always say, if you're going to be awful defensively you have to be exceptional offensively, Gibbs is woeful going forwards and Sagna only marginally better.

Debuchy could be a large improvement defensively but offensively/temperament he just hasn't impressed me.

He does have a knack for the occasional crunching tackle but nothing too horrible, except maybe the double-footer against West Brom. Stays down for a while too if clipped. Loves to milk it a bit too much.

Funny that you mention he'd been an improvement defensively. All I've read recently is that he's a bad defender but decent going forward. He's very good at both but prefers to attack and stay forward. Doesn't mean he'll be caught out as he's got a good gas tank and is pretty ridiculous in the air. He was probably the only player to not dip in form last season, and with some of the rubbish he had to play with, that's quite the achievement.

Unfortunately I think he'd be a nice fit at Arsenal. Of course he'd join in a heartbeat but I can't see you being willing to fork out £12m on a 28 year old right-back. It just seems too obvious of a signing for Wenger to make. Sign Aurier instead.

Plus, don't you wanna see this again?

Whilst out in Brazil, I assume the British Press have been able to lobby FIFA to change the rules of the game that will allow us to field 21 player in our starting team this coming season.

I mean surely all of these players on the verge of signing for us in the next couple of weeks Maradona, Pele, Vidal, Hummels, Maldini, Robson, Keane, Best, Law and Charlton its only a matter of time.

I expect our possible line up on 1st game of the season to be something like this and clearly playing five holding midfielders will make us hard to break down.

GK - Big Dave

RB - Samba Nev
LB - Luke Shaw
CB - Jones
CB - Hummels
CB - Vermallen
CB - De Vrij
CB - Evans

DM - Vidal
DM - Carrick
DM - Schweinsteiger
DM - Strootman
DM - De Jong

AM - Herrera
AM - Mata
AM - Kagawa

RW - Valencia
LW - Di Maria

CF Van Persie
CF Rooney
RF Januzaj
LF Robben

The British press really are a tiresome bunch

it's only taken the wc for liverpool fans to face up to it but suarez will never ever wear a liverpool shirt again atleast spurs got a friendly and a cracking goal out of bale.

i'll miss the crazy rat and i can see a cl bust up between him and gerrard should they ever cross paths again.

If by bust up you mean he will knock the ball down for him and then watch in admiration while he smashes the ball home with one touch, then yes I agree with you. Gerrard doesn't have it in him, he couldn't win a bust up with LeSaux let alone someone who bites back.

Lovren is apparently refusing to return to the club, so I can't see them making life easy for him to actually leave now.

£20m!!!

There's got to be something dodgy going on giving all this cash to Southampton.

Maybe we'll use it to buy Suarez and give it all back :p

Awful being an Evertonian this time of year.

Was hoping that Lukaku was going to have a horrible World Cup to drive down the price, but his performance against the US could mean that we get priced out completely.

Gareth Barry could be coming in over the next week, which is nice.

I guess.
