Spanish press reporting fee agreed for suarez is €90m so about £71m I think and no sanchez if true Im not surprised at no sanchez as I didn't think he would join us and I still don't think he will

Last years transfer window with Arsenal ruined me, I can't get excited about any players now until they are signed.

Interesting we keep getting linked with midfielders but weren't interested in fab. I know we need a replacement DM but I'll be surprised if he actually goes and fills that position.

Names linked are interesting but until they are wearing the shirt I'm not sure I have any faith left in the media.

Supposedly it has been agreed as both a cash deal and with sanchez included, however it's up to him to decide now. Barca pushing for him to go as they're getting a better valuation with us and they pay less cash.

I'd much rather cash plus sanchez but I can't see why he would leave them for us or why barca would even let him go with his performance this year

English media reported Barca's opening offer was £70mill, dont think we've accepted £1mill over that..Spanish press are guessing just like the English media, no one knows. This has undisclosed written all over it.

The reports I've read from Spain this morning have all been claiming that Barca aren't offering close to what's being suggested, apparently they want to pay about £48m. As well as getting it structured over several years.

Anyway, something from Sky:

Luis Suarez's move from Liverpool to Barcelona could be completed before the end of the weekend, Sky sources understand.

Talks between the clubs are ongoing, with only the fee for the striker's services the wrangling point.

Liverpool are holding out for £80m for their star forward - a sum that would activate a release clause in his contract - while Barcelona hope to lure him for a figure in the region of £60m.

FIFA have already confirmed that Suarez will be allowed to have a medical ahead of a transfer, despite receiving a four-month ban from football.

Yeah, I think they've been confusing the exchange rates as I've seen two figures mentioned originally by the majority of the media and that was £55.7m and £70m. But it just so happens that £55.7m = €70m. Also £48m = €60m. So I wouldnt be surprised if we're looking for £70m and Barca have come in with £60m and again, its just the media reporting the currency incorrectly. I imagine we would've laughed Barca out of the room had they offered us £48m.

Its pretty clear we'll get what we want or no deal, seems like that figure is £70-80m.

yep, considering how many stories are doing the rounds re price, I'm expecting it to be an undisclosed fee.

I don't think we're going to get bent over though, we seem to be standing firm and well Barca are probably worse than us at negotiations :D

Awful being an Evertonian this time of year.

Was hoping that Lukaku was going to have a horrible World Cup to drive down the price, but his performance against the US could mean that we get priced out completely.

Gareth Barry could be coming in over the next week, which is nice.

I guess.

This is what I said last year, we couldn't improve we could only at best tread water. If by some miracle those loan players all wanted to stay any money we had would have been swallowed up keeping those players. So kicking on would be impossible with no further money. Another loan or two maybe. Hopefully RM can pull some more rabbits out of hats but I'm not confident we will finish anything like as well as last year.

70 Mil is too high for someone as unpredictable as Suarez, not to mention hes 28? soon and has a large ban over his head.

The cash could go a long way for liverpool to strengthen the squad overall, probably going to miss his goals and creativity though ala united when Ronaldo was sold and wasn't replaced :P
