I'm testing the Vanilla Custard I made up last week. I know it hasn't had enough time to steep but I couldn't wait.
Needs more steeping time as flavour is fairly weak. But the throat hit and vapour is great. So I'm fairly pleased with my first attempt at making my own juice.
Shame I have to go back to the pre-made for a few more weeks.
I should treat waiting for liquid to steep a lesson in patience and not a form of psychological torture.![]()
Just pick up a fruity concentrate, you can get away with vaping them very shortly after mixing!![]()
Ok! I've decided I cant resist it any longer. I'm going to have a bash at some DIY mixing.
Looking at a standard VC for now, like GVC as thats my fave, just to see how it goes.
Question. The kits from TAC - http://www.thealchemistscupboard.co.uk/DIY,_Mixing,_Flavours,_Nic,_Etc/cat1708885_1667536.aspx (Gold and Silver) Is it worth just getting the bigger gold kit from the off?
My shopping list is this...
The Gold or Silver kit - http://www.thealchemistscupboard.co.uk/DIY,_Mixing,_Flavours,_Nic,_Etc/cat1708885_1667536.aspx
Ethyl Maltol - http://www.thealchemistscupboard.co.uk/product/ethyl maltol
Cap VC - http://www.leisureliquids.co.uk/capella-vanilla-custard
PA Dulce De Leche - http://www.leisureliquids.co.uk/pa-dulce-de-leche
Got this ( http://ejuice.breaktru.com/ ) and the one for my phone too.
Am I missing anything? Do I need/should I have some more bottles, syringes?
TIA![]()
What did you get? If its VW use that. search my previous posts for a vid on why.So my kit arrived today. Very exciting.
Re. the variable voltage - i'm starting at the lowest, 3.3v, what will higher (say 5v) accomplish?
Can do, or clean and dry burn with a new juice. How much liquid do you guys go through a day?
Is it the established practice to keep various flavours in different clearomisers, then just swap them when desired?
Also, how does the PG/VG ratio affect things? I went for 80%(standard), what will others do?
Thanks!
PG = flavour and throat hit, VG = Vapour. basically.

All out of stock.....1 x 100ml of 72mg/ml Nicotine Base in PG
1 x 100ml Propylene Glycol (PG)
1 x 100ml Aqueous Vegetable Glycerin (VG
I pay £16 for them 3. http://vapersemporium.co.uk/index.php But it looks a good kit.
And if your Nic is VG based them you will need more PG for mixing and vice versa.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.composedchaos.eliquidrecipemanager&hl=en is a good manager.

5v will more than likely burn it, start around 3.5v or about 7w and work up til it tastes good.

I'm starting with strawberry 11mg, having smoked approx. 10-12 roll ups a day. No idea if this it the right level but we'll soon see

The higher the volts, or watts, the more power applied to the coil and the harder it burns. So you should get more vapour production, and more heat. In general, vape at whatever you feel comfortable with, and if you feel you want a roll up, try upping the wattage / volts a little to see if that helps. Or up the nicotine content. They are exclusive though. Upping the volts means you are applying more volts to the same resistance in the coil, thus giving it more power (watts). Upping watts is applying more volts, based on the resistance of the coil. You do not set one, then the other. Adjusting either will adjust both.
The advantage with using watts is that when you change coils, even if the resistance has changed, the same watts should give the same vape. Obviously there are differences with different devices, and even the way the coils are constructed. But that's the basic theory behind it.
Not all strawberry flavours are equal, and often finding the right e-liquid for your tastes is the hardest / most expensive aspect of the process.
I started on 36mg/ml, but I was on 20 cigs a day. I was on this strength for the first couple months before coming down to 24mg, then 18. The last couple batches I made up were around 12-14 mg/ml and I'm coming up for a year now.
As for how much I vape. It depends. Every day is different, and I now have so many different attys with different flavours on the go, it is increasingly difficult to tell. I would guess I am somewhere between 3-4 ml per day.
This is obviously personal preference. And how much money you are willing to invest in this. I see it as a hobby now, that is funded from not spending money on cigarettes. Rather than the means to an end. As such, I have no fear of spending the money I would have spent on cigarettes, on some vaping gear. So I have many different atomisers to choose from.
The result of which, is that I do as you suggest. I have several different flavours in several different atomisers. I also have a dripper (with a few more on the way, having only just gotten into them), which allow me to quickly change wicks, and therefore flavours. So I can have a few toots on one flavour, re-wick with cotton wool, and fire onto the next flavour if I so desire.
Other people view it differently though, and are happy to just use the least amount of kit possible, and wash and dry-burn to change flavours when they like.
PG provides for more throat hit and more flavour. So if you are a flavour junky, then the more PG you have, the better. But you will get more throat hit with it.
VG thickens the liquid, and gives more vapour production. So cloud chasers use heavy VG liquids. But then if you are planning on stealth vaping, heavier PG liquids are beneficial.
There are other reasons for swinging one way or the other. Some people have reactions (intolerance) to either liquid, so will swing one way or the other. And some people just don't care.
Personally, I make my own, so mix it up depending on how I might be feeling, or what I am intending to do with the flavour.
For example, if I'm testing a new flavour, I am more likely to drop the nicotine content, and up the VG content, as I will most likely be using my dripper for it.
But if I intend on using a tank, I will have slightly higher nicotine, and PG for more flavour.
Nobody can tell you what is right for you here. That is for you to find out through experimentation. But people can help you.
What recipe did you use?
What recipe did you use?
as others, buy seperate if you can, vapers emporium or go4smoke are cheapest for nic base,
VG and PG from classikool on Ebay or you can get VG in Boots.
I find Chefs Vapour stock loads of different makes of concentrates, use code AAEC for 10% off. and it saves on postage getting them all from the same place.
Oh and some French Vanilla Deluxe will make your Custard taste even betterand PA vanilla custard tastes as good as Capella but is cheaper
A really good VC recipe is the first one here, imo its nicer than GVC

Just 15% Cappella Vanilla Custard at 50/50 PG/VG and 12mg nic as a tester.
Funny you should link that Custadry Lovechild.
I am NOT a custard fan. Not at all, I just didn't get it. But that was back when I first started. I had all the ingredients here for the CL, so made up a batch the other night. Should be ready about Christmas, lol.
