I's funny, I still game on PC but I really have become disenchanted with the fruitless, pointless race that is the PC hardware upgrade game. For me (and many others I have encountered on forums over the years) my PC was an unwitting social replacement... I used to spend hours on it at a time when my social life was less than stellar. I spent many thousands of pounds on constant CPU and GPU upgrades for a temporary, fleeting buzz, and then repeated the process ad infinitum, all the while scoffing at consoles as my poorer cousins.
However, in reality, and despite the higher games prices, consoles are much more suited to people who don't spend an inordinate of time in their bedroom. Not only that, but it's so nice not having to worry about upgrading the machine... games will be produced that look the best they can for the capability it provides...and I can just enjoy the games without worrying about whether I need to upgrade a component. I still play PC games, but only on a laptop, and even then almost strictly limited to RTS games or RPG games that need a mouse to play properly.
I still remember when PC gaming was about innovation and originality, and not mostly about chasing the next graphical API. Lots of smaller development houses that didn't work to time pressure or strict budgets, and concentrated on producing gaming nirvana. How times change.
I am done with the absolutely futile OC hardware/overclocking race, and I feel much better for it.![]()
That would workOr leave the Forces with a nice couple of tax free pensions.
A wife with a good job also helps...![]()
I have a custom high end PC and consoles and I have time for a social life as well. Although I do not work so that more than likely helps....![]()
If you don't mind me asking Moogley's, why aren't you working? I've been in the same boat as had back injury. Hence why I been spending more time on the forums lately lol. I hate not working tbh, I mean we have lot's to do looking after the kids and everything else but still it gets boring being at home imho.
Send your other half out to work and look after the kids on your own, you won't get bored then trust me!If you don't mind me asking Moogley's, why aren't you working? Class my life as unfulfilled then, sob...I guess that depends on your view of what constitutes challenging mental stimulation... certainly staying home looking after the kids every day would not be at the top of most mens "life fulfilment" lists.![]()

I was medically discharged from the forces with bowel disease. Finding an employer who is willing to give you a job based on my needs is impossible. It made more sense for me and the wife to swap roles as such.
I don't get bored although I miss working. Between hobbies, Friends and 3 kids I have more than enough to keep me entertained.

I believe it is locked at 30fps. My biggest worry with it is handling and not being able to tinker with your car. I'm used to being able to tweak a car on these games.
Sounds like we're in the same boat, I'm looking forward to getting back to work in about 4 years timeI don't get bored although I miss working. Between hobbies, Friends and 3 kids I have more than enough to keep me entertained.
Forza just bores me senseless and I don't know why.A ps4 version of Forza Horizon would have done me. Bought my second 360 just for that game lol.
Why are people so worried about 30fps for Driveclub?
