Did we chase him? We were linked with him in the press a bit but never anything serious and I wouldn't say it was that big a mistake. I'm not sure how he fits in at Liverpool; he strikes me as a luxury player that needs the side built around him and he's not good enough for that to happen with us.

Well being a Spurs fan I'm going to be bias, but I think he could fit in any team. And I thought you were bidding for him for quite a while? Probably the usual press stuff though as you've said.

No denying you could have signed him first though, and I disagree that he wouldn't fit in at Liverpool. Him alongside Sterling would be pretty special.

The summer you signed him there was a lot of talk coming out of Holland that we were interested but Liverpool kept briefing the press that we weren't interested. I remember speculating at the time that maybe we were trying to get him on the cheap by waiting until the end of the window and bidding as he only had a year left on his deal but nothing materialised.

No denying he's a talented player but our whole attacking game is based around high tempo pressing, something I just can't see Eriksen doing. The only way I see you getting the best out of Eriksen is if you play him in a free role off the front, which he won't get for us. We have the likes of Sterling, Coutinho or Suarez playing there and they provide the creativitity on top of incredible work rate.

Yeah fair enough. We did start playing him in that exact role at the end of last season and he was unbelievable. Almost Bale'esque in bailing us out of tough situations.

I think Eriksen alongside Lamela and Townsend could cause a lot of trouble for the opposition. With an on form Soldado (I pray to God)

James Ducker (Times) says we're looking at Ricardo Rodríguez as Evra's replacement.

Here's a thought, could Shaw potentially be converted into a winger...?

3-5-2 with Rafael and Shaw on either flank would be my imagining. Fast up the wings but also got their defensive duties. I like Rafael, and it would cut out having to field **** like Valencia ahead of him.

No Giroud is a not a good striker.

His finishing is shocking.

60 appearances 27 goals. According to a random stat site.

Yeah his finishing is shocking ;)

Personally I like him, he is not an attacker to run at people, he is a player to hold up the ball and bring our midfield into the game. Plus he is a threat in the air and scores a few as well.

DM you will always make Wenger the scapegoat for everything, ever thought Bendtner didn't make the effort in training so never got picked as many times as he could have? Easy option to blame the manager.

Great signing of Sanchez though if it goes through. Nice to add more options.

Still need a left back desperately, Gibbs is utterly awful and we need a DM.

Seriously? No. Gibbs is one of the very few left backs in the league who can actually make a tackle. Massively underrated. Only problem is that he's injury-prone but that's why we have Monreal for cover. Agree with you on the DM front though. We've been linked with Khedira and L. Bender. Either of those would be nice but Flamini and Ramsey did a pretty good job defending the midfield area when they played last year.

Bit disappointed if Sanchez goes to Arsenal, was hoping Juventus would sell us Vidal to fund his signature. ;)

Hugo Lloris has signed a new 5-year contract with Spurs. \o/

Not sure why one of the best goalkeepers in the world wants to stay with us but I'll take it. :D

All this talk about Giroud will have DM's ears burning...

The Chronicle are reporting that Loic Remy has failed to agree terms with Arsenal and Spurs and, shockingly, Newcastle are back in for him. Like every other newspaper during a transfer window the Chronicle tends to be full of ****, but I'll keep my fingers crossed nonetheless.

As long as he's not dead or something we'll be OK ;)

A great signing in my opinion. It surprised me a little that we are showing some ambition!

Yeah you need to reign that in. We can't have Arsenal challenging for the title again, that would be madness.
