Was a good one a few weeks ago, I can't remember the exact way it went but Adrian Chiles made one of his usual snide remarks about the other pundits not even knowing that MON had played the game, and so he said actually I've won two European cups, I'd like to know how many these two have won (it was Fabio Cannavarro and some other dude, neither had any I think)
 
Wijnaldum has been the worst of the bunch for me. He is anonymous until he isnt then he is just awful.
 
What is with people point out something and you must hate that person. I cringe at the internet sometimes. LvG has made awful mistakes, I neither hate or love him. I quite enjoy his interview attitude and telling people where to go stick it when he doesn't like the questions.

But to pretend Kuyt has been good and that continuing to play him when he's killed the entire offence since he's been in the team and the team have been noticeably awful upfront due to lack of delivery... since he's been in the team... when anyone watching can see he either crosses it out of play or kills a counter by slowing and passing 20+ yards backwards for no reason. He's rubbish, LvG is making a huge error sticking with him... I don't hate him in the slightest but that doesn't mean I'm going to pretend he made a good choice with Kuyt.

I think the main mistake he's made is being far too defensive against Argentina, but the defence are poor (Kuyt or no Kuyt) so it'd have been risky to give Messi much space, etc.

Kuyt is played because he is semi-useful at everything. He is trusted to work hard to be in the right position when defending (and not in the opposition half a la Marcelo), he runs forward and is an outlet during an attack and he is tall and fairly useful in the box at set pieces.

He is not outstanding at anything but he is LVG's favoured player in the complete absence of any other outstanding candidates to play in that position.

Talking of cringe worthy, metro reporting Korea have told their people they are in the world cup final :p

Maybe Kuyt is the best he has got for his game plan given what is in the squad.

This. He's not been crap and he's not been outstanding, he's just done a good job in positions he's not used to playing in. Having said that, he's a striker and hasn't got any goals or assists so he probably doesn't compute in DMs head.
