And a guy from Star Trek!
I was seriously tempted to start reading AFFC last night against my promise to keep the TV show one step ahead of the books but think I'll get utterly lost with all the new characters in Dorne, so I'm glad I fell asleep instead. Back on the bookshelf you go for another year old unread friend...*
Roll on June 2015!
*but I did read the SOSp2 Epilogue... Blimey....![]()
I would have thought it would be much more confusing to watch the show first tbh.
I got around 100 pages into the book and stopped reading it. It's just an awfully written book that completely loses the pace set by the previous books by needlessly exploring the same timepoint from the perspective of a host of unnecessary new characters.
He messed up with the fourth boo, and book five was a clumsy attempt to get back on track. I hope six is an improvement. The TV series is actually an improvement on the books in some respects.

Yay or nay?
Done. Even though it has a wacking great spoiler tag, it's generally only a few members and one mod that whinges anyway
Thanks for the heads up
Aren't spoiler tags there for a reason too?
I think the gist of the rules about the spoiler tags is that they should not contain out and out spoilers that someone who has read the books or read all the wikis might know, but can perhaps be used to ask a book reader to clarify something, or sometimes even to guess a story line or event.
I know it sounds a bit much sometimes but I think us GOT fans are special bunch and some amongst us can get particually upset if they learn something here before seeing it on the show. Its not just here btw - over on the football365 forum there is an absolutely massive thread (645 pages - just checked..) and there is some serious anger if someone posts a real spoiler - even in spoilers![]()
But there comes a point where everyone has to take responsibility for their own actions, if you go clicking on the spoiler tags then you only have yourself to blame.
+1. A person must be seriously weak to not have the willpower to refrain from clicking a spoiler tag when they don't want something to be...spoiled!
