It was the 2.0 patch that brought the game back to life imo, not the expansion. That's not to say the expansion isn't great though

Expansion brought some of the toughest and deadliest mobs to the game, so it's hardly fair to call it great!!

The maps are annoying too, as they're tiny, hard to navigate and usually dark/foggy. Some of the maps the isometric design changes your view too which is damned annoying!!

Saying that though, Maltheal is perhaps the only boss that actually poses a threat on anything lower than T4!

Not at all!

In fact, on reflection, Act 5 has some of the hardest bosses of the entire game.

Urzael, Adria, Malthael... I found all far tougher than their Act 1-4 compatriots.

The big issue with Act 5 is that virtually every creature can deliver unavoidable damage - whether it is a life drain aura, an off-screen (no sound or warning) charge from any of the reapers, or stunning blows from the big reapers, - the AOE attacks are deadlier than any other act too!

On T4/T5 it feels like you are playing on the next torment up, when against these mobs.

Is the expansion worth it? I haven't bought it yet, I recall leaving the game because i was sick of repeating the same thing over and over again.

Tiny? They're huge overall? Or were you getting at the fact that some of the corridors and such within them are quite cramped?

Maltheal is a pain in the rear to beat. Always find him so much tougher than every other boss in the game. I'd agree that a lot of the mobs are really tricky to fight against though. But I'd not criticise the addon based on that personally.

I was trying out a new character yesterday, My Monk with little to no gear and Belial on T1 was a struggle. Eventually did it after 7 tries.!!

The enrage mode for Bosses makes it a real challenge !!

Keys on eBay for RoS have been £16-£19 for months and months.

They may well be, but I don't use eBay.

It much more than a mere expansion. It has totally brought the game to life imo. The state of the game before was horrendous

It is however still an expansion with one new character class and one new act, and as such it gets added to my 'expansion' pricing limits, especially as I played the original to death when it came out

Don't remember seeing an invite but this could be due to full friendlist.

I have only been playing PTR lately tho, as there is nothing left to play on live for me.

Absolute rage at D3, posting this purely as I need to vent it somewhere and when I tried venting it to my girlfriend all I got was, "well, I dunno, you're a bit of a geek eh?"...... RAGE!

Played 14 hours yesterday. a lot of A1 bounties and a lot of rifts. Lost count of how many A1 caches I opened and not a single leg never mind a RoRG.... Then my mate jumps on at 7pm, does 1, yes 1, split farm of A1 with me. Guess what he got!

30mins later, same mate, now been online grand total of 40mins, just happens to have ANOTHER stone of jordan drop for him. Then after that 2 Maurader set items for his DH.

I want to smash his face in.

If he hadn't played for a set amount of time, it apparently places them in a 'more likely to get legendary' group.

I went 30hrs without any legs, then got about 9 in 1hr.

That is Diablo for you. It can be a right pain sometimes. I am sure it work towards your favour in the end. As they do normally balance out.

Believe it or not i am coming in the same conclusion, i tend to get better stuff if i dont play a while and coming back on. After a long time, the first few runs are normally really really good.

Thinking of buying RoS and starting a new character, I got to Act III on my first play through and haven't touched it since. Worth getting RoS and starting again, or just continuing through with the old char?

RoS won't change anything before you hit 60, so I'd suggest playing through as you are at the moment and then deciding if you want to shell out for RoS.
