Fluxx is a silly game for filling ten minutes with. There's no strategy or thinking involved. Monty Python Fluxx is probably the best edition.
Another relatively light-hearted game. It's funny for a while but don't expect deep strategy.
I have Cthulhu Fluxx. It's good fun, but as far as I understand all of the different versions are just the same game with a pasted theme. It's best with 3+ players, I think, and works as a nice little filler in between other games. A game can be over in 5 minutes or 20, all depending on which goals are pulled out (or 'Ungoals' in the Cthulhu one, also -- it's possible for nobody to win, there!)
Among my gaming group we've got 3 versions of Fluxx, Zombie, Pirate and Cthulhu. Although yes they're all basically the same there are different numbers of ungoals/creepers/surprise cards that do affect the gameplay somewhat.
Cthulhu for example has loads of creepers and ungoals and so it almost becomes a game of 'can I be the one to make us all lose'.
Pirate has more surprise/stealing mechanics which makes for some fun. Don't recall any ungoals and only 2 creepers.
Zombie only has one ungoal iirc, but loads of creepers like Cthulhu, and the creepers move quite a bit between players.
All good fun, but all the same 10-ish-minute random fun game rather than a 'proper' game.
Munchkin I like, no real strategy but nice backstabbing and a bit of a laugh, although I would say get the deluxe edition with the board, far easier to keep tracking of who is leading and imo improves the game.
Munchkin
X-Wing
Zombicide
Pandemic
^ Can recommend all of those.
Thanks for the feedback that is really useful. I will definitely look at the deluxe edition of Munchkin then. Thank you![]()
Don't. The only thing that could improve Munchkin is lighter fluid and a box of matches.
Hahahaha very funny. From what I have seen on the internet it does seem to be one of those "Marmite" products as in you either love it or hate it.
Maybe do some more digging first then to see if its right for me. If its not then lighter fluid and matches on the standby![]()
Tabletop did Munchkin too
I love Munchkin - mainly because it's the only game I can consistently beat my kids at
It's not a good game for rules lawyers.
I'm watching TableTop at the moment, will watch that episode soon to see how it looks.
If you like TableTop you might like Spellslingers. Its all about Magic: The Gathering. Not sure if you have played that but its an awesome game and the show is of a similar format to TableTop
I love Spellslingers - I used to play a lot of magic, but don't have any friends that play it any more. I keep trying to teach the kids, but it's just a bit beyond them so far
Yeah I know what you mean, I used to play a lot of Magic but I don't have any friends near me now that play it. I too am trying to teach my daughter how to play, she seems to be picking it up but its still early days and not as much of a challenge as it would be playing against another fairly seasoned player
Careful watch you wish for.....before you know it she will be melting your face.
