Cars you nearly purchased and now regret not buying...

Was going to get an NSX before I grabbed the DC2 4.5yrs ago. Wish I did asit would have appreciated by £15k+, but my practicality head won out :(

I was nearly in the same boat but it would have been a bit of a stretch and the Evo was an itch that needed to be scratched. Wished I had though.....

Lotus Cortina
Porsche 356B GT
BMW 3.0 CSL
MG SV XPOWER
Fiat Panda 100HP

Not buying my Dads Lotus Elan 2+2 Sprint when I had the chance is my biggest regret.

Impreza P1 by a mile.

I dont regret the RS4 but I wanted a P1 from the first moment I saw one new in the showroom at the Subaru garage I used to walk past on the way home after a night out in the local underage drinking establishment at 15/16.

Had I of bought one 3 years back I might of got a decent example, now it seems they are all ragged to within an inch of their lives and modified by the whole cast of the fast and furious.

Yes. I'm 6'4" and long in the trunk and there are very few cars into which I will fit.

You must not have looked around properly then.
I'm 6ft 6 and can fit in most cars (unless a small coupe) with ease

I have driven a C Class, while not a C63, and I was perfectly comfortable in that. There wasn't any space behind me but that wasn't an issue.

Did you drive a Mondeo, they're massive and one of only two cars where I've had to move the seat forward

Nissan Silvia S15 Spec R. My mate was selling it and offered it me for 1.5k-2k less than similar spec ones but I decided not to as I was doing a lot of miles and the MPG would have killed me so I stuck to my my Focus. 2 months after it sold I moved office and no longer need a car for work so now only do about 2-3k miles a year.

Mine does 32mpg consistently, they're certainly not bad on fuel, mine is the 5sp with 4.1 rear end too which will make it worse.

That doesn't seem too bad, I can't remember the exact figures as this is going back a couple of years but think he was averaging low-mid 20's. His driving never seemed that uneconomical so I expected for me it would be equal or more likley lower. Maybe just different mods and/or driving stye, well that or he wanted to put me off buying it so cheap lol.

M3 2.5 at around 14k I don't even want to think of the value today.....

Ferrari 400i black manual carburettor 12.5 k that would be 30k now easy

Instead I bought a lotus excel (nice car all told) at 11.5 and sold it recently for 5900

This pales in comparison to some examples but!

I bought a Corsa C instead of a lovely black fiesta zetec of similar age to save £200 quid that year on insurance (first car) I regretted it everyday for four years until I got rid of my Corsa :(

Yes, I can fit in one of those, and a Vectra, but they're rather anodyne as cars. I can adjust the rake in most cars, but if I adjust the rake so I have headroom, most often I can't hold the steering wheel.

1993 35th Anniversary Caterham 1700 SuperSprint. Yellow and green with a 1700cc Kent lump with dual Webers.
Sounded amazing and was in really good nick.
Chickened out and have regretted it ever since. Excellent price and already registered in Belgium. (Pain in the arse with Caterhams, etc)

:(
