ISIS and Islamic militants - discussion

Had the US not steamrollered so many countries in the area isis wouldn't have evolved and would have been dealt with locally.

Had the US gobe in on humanitarian reasons not purely financial ones then I'd say fine...

Yes, I agree that this mess was primarily caused by US greed in the first place, but that being said, it doesnt change the fact that the US needs to provide the assistance that is being requested here. By all means slam the US foreign policy that caused all of this in the first place, but now that they have to tidy up some of the mess that they caused, let them do so. Like Jumpy said in his post....the US/UK have 2 options, let them destroy each other and bring on the dawn of a brutal extremist state that is well funded with oil reserves. Or option 2, try and tidy up the mess we caused and stop this from happening. Option 2 is by far the best option with regards to the severity of the IS land grab.

still killed less innocents than most western countries

obama is the most spineless jelly president there has ever been too

considering the american people voted him in due to the fact he said he would pull out of iraq, is it the president who is spineless, or doing what the american voters want?

Option 3 the arab league? These guys soen millions, billions on jets they never use. Time to dust them off me thinks.

Why is it always down to the Americans? Would be nice to see some muslim countries/religious leaders expressing their support for bringing ISIS down, or at the very least regularly condemning their actions.

The Arab League are a spineless bunch of whimps, who's ability to spend Billions on military hardware is just an exercise in vanity. Not all that unlike NATO really, who have just as bad a record of acting in situations where they should, but don't.

Sadly the Arab League is a far cry from the dynamic 'League of Extraordinary Gentlemen', despite they share the word 'league' in their title. :p

Many of these countries have too much of a delicate balance with keeping their own people in line; let's not forget, they (for the most part by western standards) are still dictators wearing the jackboots - lift that foot off to step on another snake and the one you were controlling is likely to bite you.

Also there's that whole saving face thing that the west just doesn't get - The arab league is hardly going to go to war with 'their brothers'. They will shrug their shoulders and wave their hands apologetically and say "...well, what can you do?".

If push comes to shove they might approve foreign intervention, as they did when iraq invaded kuwait, but they're unlikely to do their own dirty work.

Not before time I say.

I don't think I've ever seen such an inhuman, evil bunch of murderers.

No different to the killing of palestinian women and children by IDF, when will the IDF get their arse handed to them for warcrimes ? oh wait they won't because the US are in Israel's pocket..........................

Bush was planning the Iraq withdrawal, McCain said he would, Hilary said they would... the difference was Obama promised to do it, well initially about 8 months before he could be in office, because he's stupid, then he promised the day he got in office. The other three promised a multi stage withdrawal with a "sensible" time frame.... the same time frame Obama eventually did it in.

three people knew how long it would take and said they'd be out by then, one guy lied about a stupidly early impossible date, got elected and pulled out when the other three said they would.

The Iraq withdrawal would have happened regardless of who was in charge.

I think you miss the obvious point - Arabic countries spend money on military hardware to project power internally not externally. It has nothing to do with vanity is has every thing to do with keeping the status quo for a largely corrupt elite.

Was sent video of them executing two boys no older than 12!! And on CNN they are talking about them beheading children and put the heads on spikes in the park!

Wtf!

isis are to busy making a nuclear bomb since over a month ago

oh and kurdistan are now begging for american help LOL

I find it funny since the stupid kurds had a truce with isis not officially but a truce non the less and wouldn't help the rest of iraq

haha yea because its that easy isnt it? They had to steal technology from others to carry out attacks on new york, I somehow think we're quite safe from the scientific masterminds in ISIS needed to create a nuclear bomb.

You have a bizarre hatred for kurds it seems as well, i wish them all the best personally.

The sooner they get airstriked into oblivion the better.
