*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

im interested in switching sticks and been toying with the idea for a while but ive gotten used to them, the only reason i wanted to was because at first my thumbs used to slip off especially when playing games such a FIFA. Not been much of an issue now and i dont have the grip wearing down like others do.. but i prefer taller sticks like when i used to have a Xbox 360 and Kontrol Freekz just made it a little bit easier.

Just grab the sticks and give them a try. If you do not like you can always swap them back the controller is very easy to take apart requiring only a small Philips screw driver. Just take care with the ribbon connections and remember the re-set button that will fall out.

I can't believe this. I sent my controller off to be replaced for the 4th time as the R2 button stopped working. Sony sent me this 'new' controller after two weeks:

Needless to say I'm in the process of registering a formal complaint.

You literally couldn't make it up.

Wow!

Sounds like that Chinese company needs to hurry up and bring out a new Xross Battle Adapter for using Xbone controllers on PS4. ;)

Just got these from Grainger Games for £4, my pads left analogue stick has began to degrade and peel away.

Does it void warranty?

Got my PS4 yesterday along with The Last of Us and MGS Ground Zero. Think I must be jaded from to much PC gaming as I just wasn't blown away by the GFX. MGS looks good and feels very smooth, but just doesn't make me feel like I'm playing on a next gen console.

And I really dislike the PS4 UI.

Going to start The last of Us shortly, had it for the PS3 since release but never got started. And then held off for the PS4 version. What I've seen from others playing this makes it look really good.

Well depending on the spec of the PC it may have been more of a sideways step visually. I thought MGS was a great looking game with some outstanding graphical effects.

You don't really go from PC gaming to console for graphics, PC's will generally be ahead due to the nature of the market. You get a console for the ease of playing on it and exclusives. The PS4 UI is decent, what don't you like about it? Granted it not perfect but does what's required of it. TLOU is a great looking game and the attention to detail is stunning. Remember though, it's the actual game and the story that is the main factor here.

The ps4 costs less than your graphics card alone... Not sure what you expected lol.

Yes, the UI is the worst part of the PS4. Personally I would give the people who designed it a swift kick in the balls for producing that

What do you not like and what what improvements/features would you like to see?

I really don't see the hate for it. Does what I need it to.

Some customisation would be nice but that's not a huge deal.

It's a huge list that goes across horizontally and you're forced to have the icons that size so you can't see that much at any one time.

Ps3 at least categorised apps to video/music/games .etc

Yeah, I'd like the option to create folders for instance but it's still functional the way it is really. It's nothing worth hating :p

If you have a mic plugged in you can can just say a games name to instantly go to it's title if scrolling is too laborious for you.

I'd like to see them streamline invite system as at the moment you invite someone, then you have to go to another screen to confirm the invite and optionally add a message (who does this?). I just want to invite someone and away it goes...

Yeah, the invite process could be better. Feels rather clunky and it's the same for both sending and receiving I find.

Put my xbox one sticks on ds4 today, not tried the controller yet but it was fairly easy to change them using that video a few pages back.

The only thing that is tricky at first is taking the controller casing apart and possibly having to put some of the triggers back if they come off when taking casing off.

That's fine if I knew what I wanted to play, I'm at the point were it takes quite a few scrolls to get through all my games, bit annoying when I want to have a look at games I haven't played in a while :o
