New Car...again

The 1.0 Ecoboost is one of the best engines in recent years but then it isn't an Audi so automatically sucks eh?

Congrats on the baba Steedie.

The Focus is better equipped, but can’t match the VW’s extremely strong residuals, great-value servicing pack and diesel-like economy. Factor in the superior practicality, top-notch quality and class-leading refinement, and the Golf takes a narrow win.

Audi designed the 1.2 "Tsi" TFSI.

#winning.

^ But I don't like Golfs?

Thanks guys :)

Yeah the engine really surprised me. When he recommended I try it, I sort of went in with a pessimistic attitude, purely on the engine size alone. But you really wouldn't know a difference with that and the 1.6, if anything it's better with the power delivery (that feels wrong talking about power in a 1 litre car :p). Combine that with the brilliant fuel economy and it's a no brainer.

Yeah they aren't as cheap as I expected. Zetecs you can pick up dirt cheap, but a low mileage (this has done 10k) and Titanium spec focus with this engine, they seem to be holding value well. They threw in some nice extras with it as well so it's worked out quite well

I paid just under £12k for that. Guarantee you wouldn't get a same age and same spec Golf for that
Given I don't know what spec your car has it is hard to find out.

But you could have this, bluemotion 1.6 tdi, dad has one of these, quiet, 575 miles to a tank driven quickly, bluetooth, good MMS, etc.

I actually have issues keeping up with this on flat surfaces, it has so much more torque than my car so it is pretty even untill you get to a hill and i get on boost threshold.

Fair enough, bodes well for your depreciation costs at least :)

That's not bad. Doesn't look to have as many 'toys' as mine, and I've just never been keen on Golfs since the Mk2.
