Airport Valet parking company taken my F10 M5 for a spin

What do you mean you can't rev it over 3k? Is that a limit you set or the car until it's warm?

Pauper here sorry for the dumb question. :D

Where is the like button ? :)

Considering how bad rep these companies have, I'm surprised people use them, especially when mentioned that you can just leave it there when booked ahead.

I'd never let anyone drive my car, I'm even skeptical about letting the dealer drive my car... oil temp needs to be at operating temperature without fail! and my car isn't especially rare/unique/powerful

Didn't someone on here, or maybe it was pistonheads, leave their 350z with a garage which ended up with the car on its roof?

Sure I saw this on Piston Heads, was a 370z IIRC and the first the owner knew about it was a friend/colleague phoning to ask if he was ok as he could see his car outside on its roof

That sounds like it, especially how he found out. Couldn't remember if it was on here or pistonheads. Was probably discussed on here as I rarely visit the PH forums so I'm more than likely to have seen it here.

Be careful of the official parking at these places too. I pre-booked in Long Stay at Heathrow for a month while I went to Tehran and when I got there two people in a fluorescent jackets stood at the entrance said it was full and gave me a rubbish photocopied map to Short Stay and said I had to park there. When I got back from Iran, I went to exit and the barrer said £1200 due. All the staff just shrugged their shoulders and said they didn't know anything about it. In the end, I had to lift the barrier up against it's clutch by hand.

Pretty sure i saw that on here. iirc there was also a bmw dealer thrashing some ones car about recently too.

My office overlooks a pretty big car-park where a BMW/Mini and an Audi garage store their cars. The way the staff hoon about in them is unreal. Constant screeching tires, high revs. Even the x16d's and x18d's get absolute thrashings. The BMW garage is the same one I used for warranty work, I pointed out that I overlook their storage area when I went in and the service guy went pretty pale.
Saw him nicely tootling along to the carpark later on in it prior to its wash :D

I'd contact the company and get some free compensation money. You got a nice car so they will be scared you will take them to the cleaners.

Tbh you're more likely to get some kid fired or cautioned for not doing a whole lot wrong other than being a bit over enthusiastic with a customers car. They tend to be a bit reluctant when it comes to handing money out unless they absolutely have to.

No, as people above have said they didn't do anything bad despite having the opportunity to.

A few revs is nothing and it was driven sensibly overall.

I'll be sending them a nice email saying thanks for treating my car with respect.

Once Virgin fix my internet i'll upload the vid in case anyone is interested. Too busy to email the company at this mo

If that request landed on my desk for this I'd personally come round your house and laugh in your face.
They've done nothing wrong?!

When I took my car for the MOT last month I came back and they were ragging around the industrial estate.

Excuse was to give it a fair crack at the emissions. Only floor in their explanation was it had already passed them. I didn't make a fuss as it was a 14 year old car that had just passed with no advisories.

Only thing is the clutch wasn't great before and it has totally gone a few weeks later. Not saying it was their fault but I am sure they didn't help it in it's fragile state.

Unfortunately immature people often get behind the wheel of customers cars. If it is anything with a bit of poke the temptation is often too much.

guessing it's an auto? some cars have rev limiters in place for when the car is in park/neutral/handbrake up. like I believe newer audis with the auto/s-tronic boxes can only rev to 4k?

as for the purpose... stop people redlining when parked to save the near by residents the noise? going for more class than "ay up lads, check this out" *wraaapppppppt da-da-da-da-da-da* <<<poor rev impression

Or not to prematurely wear out the transmission :D
