Dead Rising 3 - leaked on Steam DB

340.52 WHQL Nvidia drivers work fine for hours of gameplay the missing game files is the biggest issue to not working properly + minimum 6GB System Ram + 3 GB VRam. Even today people are still reporting missing files on Steam

Capcom admitted that the retail version & other digital store steam keys were not getting all the files.

This launch is a mess I am surprised its still no 1 on Steam thats almost a week now

Nice program that!

Do I need to change any specific settings in it?
Tick the boxes ;) also for Dark Souls 2 ensure you put Steam into offline mode to avoid VAC ban it warns you in the Widescreen launcher for that & COD Ghosts & or any other VAC protected games you can only play with Steam offline as they flag them as bannable due to being memory hacks to give the correct FOV + Aspect Ratio which is stupid of Valve

I know there's files missing there on the Steam forums to grab, either way since doing the roll back not had a single CTD like before so some thing is working

I just picked this up from a CD key website(Asking price in most places is scandalous!) and played for an hour or so.

My initial impressions are that it looks really good, even if performance is bad most of the time. I haven't done anything to it in terms of tweaks or anything. Playing at 1920x1080 with a 7950 framerate is basically around 30ish most of the time. Acceptable but disappointing...Just another Crapcom launch:rolleyes:

My main problem is a ctd when quitting.

I am using a single 7950, waiting for a decent crossfire profile. But I am getting anything between 40-70 fps everything maxxed out apart from subsurface scattering which is off.

1080p as well for me.

hehe got that :p

Shame "fixing" a game can get you banned :(

Likewise. No idea how it is working, I only know I'm pleased to be able to play it now for a few hours at a time due to the driver rollback.

This game's issues are so random across the board for different users - not had a single CTD when quitting the game as of yet.

Is it worth unlocking the framerate then?...A video I saw said it could cause problems or is that bs?

I've unlocked the framerate using the user.ini file and I used it right from the start, including when I was using the 340.52 drivers. Now using the 335.23's and still using the user.ini file/fps unlock and no more crashes - touch wood!

Much more playable with the framerate unlocked. Still not great, but OK. With lots of zombies on screen when I was driving just now it looked like it had dropped a lot. It is playable though.

It doesn't actually ctd when I quit, it just hangs, so I have to ctrl alt del to shut it down.

Are you using an Nvidia card m8? If so, as well as dropping the user.ini in there have you enabled 'Half Refresh'? Apparently this helps smooth things a bit:-

Assuming you’ve done all of this correctly, when you next load up the game you’ll notice that it’s no longer capped to 30 FPS. But there are a few issues you’ll have to content with. The main issue regards frame pacing and sometimes we’ve noticed animations can look a little odd. Fortunately physics operate normally. There are a few half solutions – but none that are completely obvious. Forcing VSync in the game is one way to at least minimize the frame rate fluctuations.
If you’re using an Nvidia card, you can also enable “Half Refresh”. To do this, right click on your desktop, click on Nvidia control panel and then navigate to “Manage 3D settings”. From there you’ll need to scroll to the bottom and you’ll spot an option labeled ‘Vertical Sync’. Select “Adaptive (half refresh rate)” and then click okay. You could also use the “program settings” tab to force this option only on Dead Rising 3. Personally, this is the option I’d go with – unless you want it affecting all your other games, or you’re willing to constantly swap it back and forth.

280x toxic here i left mine untouched at 30fps game runs stable for me had one crash about 10hours in or so and that was prob down to steam big picture as ive had a few games crash
