Toner cold call scam

I get a few calls with people trying this every month where I work! They offer TVs, tablets, vouchers and all sorts of other things!

If they try to press the issue, wave the distance selling regulations at them
Law trumps their company policy!

Any reason you didn't hang up straight away? Who actually buys stuff from a seller phoning you these days?

This.

"Hello sir how are you"

"Not interested, go away"

Seems to be the extent of it for me, I rarely answer calls from anything other than a person I have named in my contacts anyway. If it's important they can leave me a message.

Terms and conditions

We operate a strictly NO RETURNS policy unless the goods are faulty and an e-mail confirmation has been received stating the PRICE & QUANTITY of the order from the customer

You accept the charge of 50% of the invoice price if goods returned are either unauthorised returns or not faulty.

Am now chasing confirmation in writing that the order placed this morning was a mistake and is to cancelled

Why? Did you actually give them your address?

:D ok you win :(.

I would suck at being a scam artist.

The manager in my first job actually refilled a toner cartridge with ink on the advise of some eBay seller :D.

I so nearly died hearing about it :D.

LOL I used to get this all the time, they say they are from such and such etc and they have had a huge load of chocolate in a promo from cadburys that they are giving away free but... They are not allowed to send it without sending it with an order.. ROFL! I always state the same thing. All of our internal company printers are covered by a full maintenance contract that covers toner/fuser units/roller kits etc.

Got a cold call this morning. Young woman who couldn't stop talking. Telling me she worked for a company selling toner cartridges that lasted five times as long as other manufacturers.

Offered me a free football shirt if I accepted, which then got changed to vouchers when I told her I didn't watch football.

I put the phone down.

The end

Fool and his money etc etc

Doesn't that contradict itself?

No returns but you'll pay 50% if it's returned.

Not as such - they won't accept returns but will charge you 50% of the costs for 'unauthorised' returns for people who just reject the package. Just another 'clause' to try and lay claim to some money if people realise what they've done after it's too late and just try to reject deliveries.

Where does the op say it's B2B?

Post number 39 would certainly imply it, unless he responded using his personal email whilst at work. As soon as he responded on a work email it would be on behalf of his company and thus B2B.

I would ask for your number/email to be removed from any contact list that they hold and also state you don't accept cold calls from sales companies.
