**** Sony Xperia Z3 ****

Magnetic docking station confirmed! I've asked about the wireless case and base as well to compare against.

Some items arrived today. 3x magnetic USB cables. 1 for the car, 1 for the work bag and 1 for the computer desk. Also the magnetic dock for the bedside.

The magnets on the cables are very strong, there's no way they will accidentally fly off without some force. Very decent for £3 cables...

Now, where's the damn phone :D

Looking forward to the review!

TBH, I think I could maybe get use to the size! Who knows, might just sell my N5 and buy this out right instead of waiting for the N6....

PS.

still haven't got the o-rings installed yet?! Get on with it!!!! :p

Got mine the other day and all installed, definitely much quieter and makes the feel of typing even better (red switches)

Also, accept my friend request on steam! :p I fancy a few games of TF 2 with you at some point ;)

I have no interest in the Note 4 now that I know all that there is to "reasonably" know about it. It's more an incremental sidegrade over my Note 3 and not a significant change to something different like the Z3 is to the Note 3. Maybe the Note 5 will be a step beyond generation wise.

Like I said, the Note 3 set the bar so high it's hard to justify paying £550+ for the Note 4 just for the camera and screen benefits and still no waterproofing.

I wanted the IP67/8 and something different and a closer feel to stock Android with the ability to remove apps without having to root - Sony seem to offer exactly that in a nicer package and I got a great bargain out of it. can't see myself switching back to a Note any time soon.

The amount of work I have to do every time I install a new major version of a Samsung based custom ROM is too tedious now considering a wipe is always best as I've spotted various UI FCs if you don't wipe. I don't want to deal with these faff filled things any more either.

+1 - I'm sick of touchwiz and the gazillion and one 'features' the samsung bloats its phone with - it all just gets switched off to save juice

The PS4 remote play with a controller has swayed me too. I've been gaming a lot on my PS4 and whilst I have a vita that never appealed to me due to the lack of sufficient buttons and crappy layout. Being able to use a fully fledged PS4 controller = win win.

The Z3 should last me until samsung bring out a truly flexible display phone (i.e. the one that opens up to being tablet size :) ). I used to be a right flash junkie with custom rom's but nowadays cba - as long as we get Android L for the Z3 when it comes out i'll be happy.

Precisely! :)

There really is no need to root these days unless you badly want FULL customisation, adblock or the very latest android update as soon as possible....

I just want to be able to use Barclays apps without having to whip out PIN SENTRY!! every time.

Lol. That app is the main reason i stopped rooting my phone too. I only used to root to be able to use the flashlight app but thats not been needed for a while now.

Where's the cheapest place to order this from at the moment? Preferably the Copper one... Best I've seen so far is from clove with the free bundle pack with it, at about £520.
