ISIS and Islamic militants - discussion

Plus 20 Tomahawks at £1m a pop. National security is however more important than everything else sadly.

Do you and moon just walk around looking mad all the time? Because you sure do moan a lot.

Who cares it's a few million pound! Give it to the NHS and it will just get wasted like many other millions.

No I hope they dont! No need to risk the armed forces.

Just thinking there must be a cheaper bomb.

There is

Yup it doesn't but funnily enough anyone from the uk who joins them gets branded a terrorist.

You're seriously trying to claim that Islamic State are merely the 'Syrian opposition'? It's not that hard to understand is it? That the Syrian opposition is made up of a number of different groups including Islamic State.

You misunderstand me, I wasn't being sarcastic - national security is more important than anything else.

How did you get that from my post ?

Because the link you posted mentions funding for the Syrian opposition.

Yes i was pointing out the hypocrisy of our government.

When the government funds them and gives them weapons they are good guys but if someone from the uk goes to join them they get branded terrorists.

It sounds crazy, but £1m is peanuts really.

The marginal "Nth of a kind" construction cost for the German V2 was $13,000 (1940's dollars of the day, how that translates to modern money I do not know but I would be surprised if a similar missile would cost 100 times as much today!)

The tomahawk is a very old missile of which huge numbers have been made!

A Million (Actually, what, $1,500,000) a pop actually seems rather expensive!

I think our US friends are screwing us over again!

Still no one answered what the end game is... There are reports now of the Taliban regaining land, killing hundreds (including beheading people). Do we go back to full on war with them too? Send more troops back to Afghanistan to fight the "new evil" post ISIS?

I don't get it...

You believe theres an end game? You honestly think Cameron thought beyond send the RAF in, drop some bombs, bask in the approval ratings boost and oh, do you know theres an election coming up next year?
