ISIS and Islamic militants - discussion

On the news they were reporting ISIS were making millions form the sale of oil from captured fields. So riddle me this, who on earth is actually paying millions to ISIL for stolen oil?

No one directly - they use 3rd parties (essentially brokers) who sell it to Turkey, even the Kurds, Syria, etc.

Why is it a surprise to anyone that there is a huge queue of people from all over the world willing to buy cheap oil - the worlds most in-demand commodity, far more sought after than any other commodity by magnitudes - from ISIS?

It is going via Turkey for about $75 dollars a barrel. This has depressed the sale of crude from ~$114 a barrel to todays ~$96. This I believe is the reason that the US/UK is involved.

Surely they'd only be involved if they were selling it in Euro, or African Gold Dinars?

After costs the loss on the oil price basically wipes out the profit. You can rolleyes all you want, the US and the UK have a history of military action when the economic interests of their firms are threatened. Do a bit of research first before the glib comment.

The drop in price is due to weakening demand from China and the US, oil supply from Iraq is down due to IS, so it won't cause price to drop, if anything it's helping the price from dropping further.

Mistakes will happen. Innocents will die. It's impossible to go to war and stop that.

I hope your happy that you want thousands to die and many more to live miserable lives under such a regime.

So just utter lol at your opinion.

You would be wrong there, it's all ready helping.
It's cutting their cash flow, killing the leaders etc.

It's not enough, we(the world) need boots on ground.

How is it helping?

You can't win this type of guerrilla war from the air, in fact this type of war has been proven to be impossible to win from the ground.

Vietnam, Afghanistan and USSR.

We should be spending money sorting out the violent extremists on our own soil.
Providing training and backing for those already opposing IS.

We (USA/UK and the other perpetrators of the second Iraqi war) created this mess. It's a disgrace.
