Corsair RGB release date.

Just to add to this - got my K70 RGB (red switches) yesterday and after reading about this issue noticed that the \ key isn't lit up. That does seem to be the only key that isn't liit though, the others that people have mentioned are fine.

P/N: CH-9000068-UK

As an aside, when I unpacked the keyboard, the mute button had fallen off and was loose in the cellophane packaging the keyboard was wrapped in. It seems to be OK (and is lit) after fitting it and doesn't come loose when shaking the keyboard :) Maybe something for others to watch out for as well.

My \ key does not work either. However if i unplug the usb cable and reconnect it turns on before the software kicks in and overrides the default red/white setting the light does turn on. See if it does the same for you.

Just plugged mine in for the first time and on the default red/white setup the number 7 key on my keypad is also white, hope this doesn't indicate a problem with the LED for that particular key. Guess i will have to update the firmware so i can get onto the profiles tab of the software.

Mine did the same but it looks ok, I had to update the firmware just to get the software to let me add/change a profile but after viewing a YouTube video I have the colours working. Have you plugged both USB’s in? Think if it’s in a USB 3 port only the one with the keyboard on is needed?

Just got my k70 rgb and first thoughts are the base design etc is lovely and for all the fuss the new logo isnt actually in your face when its on your desk.

I will admit im not to impressed with the brightness of the leds, even at 100% they pale in comparison to the old k90 and k95. Also for those of you hoping to do a white colour theme with this i would not recommend it, the white is almost pink tinted and the top row of letters reflect off the number keys showing a spectrum of colours.

Overall it is very nice but i will admit to being a bit let down by the vibrancy of the leds.

Yes mate, both plugged into USB2.

After firmware update my 7 key is back to red but i also have the \ key not lighting up and now notice that the backlight brightness button and windows key lock button will only light up white despite being able to select them and change the colour in the software.

Welcome to the club, Most peoples keys that are disabled *LED's* are \ and # because of the firmware.

Managed to get the Windows lock and Brightness buttons to display another colour by individually right clicking on them in the software and clicking Clear, the \ key is bugging the hell out of me though :(

Don't worry dude everyone who I know who's bought the RGB K95 has their \ and # LED's disabled due to the firmware thinking it's the US layout, Corsair should have an updated firmware soon to fix this :)

mine was doing this but after creating a new profile and removing all the groups all the led's are working.

Lucky, It's mainly because most of us got the UK layout but the firmware is for the US layout and on the US layout \ and # are in completely different positions meaning they get turned off as they simply arent there on the layout page in CUE.

Thank you all for purchasing the K70 and K95 RGB keyboards and we truly appreciate your feedback on our new KBs. Unfortunately we were alerted to an issue regarding LEDs on some of the keys that are not being lit after updating to the latest firmware. We want to alert everyone that this is not a defective LED and your hardware is not compromised. The LED error is related to an unforeseen issue with our firmware/software. We have been able to isolate the issue and are working on a resolution with an ETA by the end of the week. We apologize for the inconvenience and ask for your patience and understanding as this is being resolved.

Hi Greybeard, It's not just a single key, As you can see from the numerous forum posts it's \ and # or did I just misunderstand and you mean multiple LED's ? :p

Thanks for the update Greybeard, good to hear it's being worked on. I don't know if some others have the same as me but my # key lights up fine on CGK70 RGB, just the \ is out.

edit: that is on the default setting.

Unforseen due to not testing it before releasing it ?

What's up with tech companies these days ?

I've only dabbled in programming, but I wouldn't even demonstrate code that I'd written to a friend without testing it first, let alone sell it to thousands or even millions (Apple ? ;) ) of customers.

BTW. I`ve been waiting for a K70 RGB with brown keys. I'll wait a little longer to see if the software/firmware is sorted, and hopefully the logo. If these things are resolved you'll get my money, if I haven't spotted a better product in the meantime.

I had a K70 with brown switches which I sent back once the LEDs started dying all over the board. I was gutted at the time as I really loved everything about the board, I thought it was truly the one until the LEDs started to go.

This was back when the RGB was first announced.. I opted for a refund knowing the RGB was in the pipeline and thinking it wouldn't be much of a wait (and I knew the LED issue was widespread).. Well I've now been using the worlds most horrible keyboard for what feels like forever, and in the mean time my trusty copperhead mouse has started playing up. This annoyed me, but I figured I could get the RGB M65 mouse (I've a thing for matching gear) when released.

Can you imagine my displeasure when I saw that hideous Corsair Gaming logo??

And now I read that the RGB firmware is awful..

Corsair you swines!

I'd have probably gone for the non RGB K70, but the reports of LED failure put me off, that's why I`ve waited for the RGB version which will hopefully not suffer from widespread LED failure.

Thanks for the "review" though. Sounds like Corsair can't quite make their mechanical keybaords THE ones to choose.
