**** Sony Xperia Z3 ****

I'm not a big user of data/minutes/texts as I work at home and mostly use the wifi for data so I was thinking of just buying it sim free from Mobile Phones Direct for £489.99 (they are the cheapest right?).
Rather than going for a contract I'll just go for a Three 321 PAYG (3p calls, 2p text 1p per mb). That way even if I add £10 of credit per month it'll just carry over if I don't spend the whole £10. Also I'll just buy the 'All in one 15' for when I go on holiday so I'll have plenty of minutes and unlimited whilst I'm way from home.
Any of you guys purchased a white one?

I'm staying naked. With the exception of a screen protector on the back.
Hah Most likely will stay naked but for such a low price I'm always happy to try out something new to see what it's like

I wouldn't get too excited about your amazon order. There's no guarantee it'll reach your house/address even if they claim to have...
They might have fixed it with the Z3 but who knows.

Plenty of SMS backup and restore apps on the Store, just download one and do that!
As for WhatsApp, copy the WhatsApp folder from the root of internal storage on the old phone and paste it back on the root of internal on the Z3. Be sure to create a manual backup from within WhatsApp chat settings screen otherwise you will be copying everything as of 4AM last night.
Once copied simply install WhatsApp and when prompted choose to restore the found backup.

For a few quid it certainly will get scratches But that may be a good thing, it can be the "rat look" of the phone world for when/if I ever use it in questionable conditions
I won't be rooting the Z3 any time soon. Banking from my phone, I forgot how convenient that is. I will wait for the AOSP release by Sony and install that though I think!

Mine came today with an eBay case too for the back. It's quite slim and doesn't ruin the looking of the phone. Will use this until the official one comes out. Magnetic dock and microsd card have been dispatched.
So far I'm liking the phone, quite use to the size already, and finding my way around it surprising well. I've not used the Camera yet, still have the rear protector on. Need transfer my contacts from my iPhone later, see how smooth that goes.

The DAC on this thing is insane. My IE80s sounded good on the Note 3 but this is a level above! The hilarious thing is the headphone jack is thicker than the phone 
Yup Barclays Pingit and Mobile Banking apps. They're really good apps so was missing them once RootCloak Plus stopped working on the updated versions.

That's great to hear, I had a huge step down in quality when I went from a Note 2 to a Moto G, it was evident even on my 'high-end' CX500's
