Martin, found this POV of the relic holder

You appear to be able to do a fist of havoc style of attack if you jump and do the melee attack. Also, he's running around chasing and killing harpies which is filling his super quicker.

Second video also explains that the enrage kicks in around 7 minutes and causes the mass spawn of minotaurs etc. that wiped us out.

Yeah I did the jump melee attack last night but I didn't know what I pressed, it just happened and couldn't figure it out again. Nice to know its jump!

I was killing harpies as they came close but didn't want to over extend from the group, but I'll try it again tonight.

Possible to take him down before the minotaurs do you think? If they do come, a couple of fist of havoc shockwaves would probably help clear them I was thinking!

Just managed to complete this weeks nightfall solo at level 27, got avoid legendary machine gun and finished off an exotic bounty.

What's your character and what guns did you go blazing with?

I will want to try it tonight solo, must at least complete 1 nightfall!

The strategy we used was far simpler and I'm guessing is the easiest way.. Unless of course it has been patched?

We did try it the "proper" way when we had 6.. But when we dropped to 5 we thought we would give it a go and it worked a treat!

Patch is live, shoop da whoop!

Looking forward to even moar rewards from Crucible / Strikes!

Hopefully it will dissuade people from cave farming...

Anyone open their postmaster / cryptarch engrams yet..?

I did and bagged myself a legendary rocket launcher.

Slightly annoying, I had a legendary engram drop when the patch went live from a strike. It booted me out and then demoted it to blue

My group made their first run at the raid last night, we deliberately didn't research it we wanted to go in blind and see how far we could get by just improvising and figuring it out as we went. It was all going pretty smooth until the Templar fight, it just seems like as soon as enrage mode activates it's all over. Is it possible to get him down before enrage mode? At 1 point last night he must have been down to 1% when he wiped, couldn't see his health bar.

Yes you want to defeat him before enrage ideally, but it's not impossible to do it after. We've done him 3 times now, twice before enrage and once after. You shouldn't need to use any special strategy either, the harpies are largely harmless. Spread the team to cover the oracles, make sure the relic holder is communicating when he is going to take its shield down, do so just after he teleports so you get the maximum shield down time and use your heavies/grenades/supers while that shield is down. If the relic holder is taking out the harpies his super will recharge faster. The ground smash he has is jump (not sure if you have to do double jump) and right trigger on XB1, it's pretty effective, and I'd say necessary later on.

Thanks, I feel like we were doing all that but we had a guy who was underleveled (25) so he wasn't doing a whole lot of damage and a guy who hadn't played the game in a week so he was dying a lot. I'm usually the relic holder, we have 3 guys on either side of the area placed beside where oracles spawn. When I take the shield down I tell the other 2 guys near me to start shooting the boss whilst I take care of the harpies that way they spend more time on him and I can gather super faster. Sound like we're on the right path?

Right path, but taking a 25 isn't advisable. Even the 27's in your group have a 33% penalty to damage taken and given. Also get everyone in the party shooting the templar when the shields go down, not just 2 of you.

Any of you guys having trouble logging in to PSN this morning. Seems to be some issues.

I was 25 when I first did it and we blasted through it again Tuesday night in an hour and a half including a 15 minute break after first boss as I had a phone call. Our little group (me, Shake, Moon etc) are all lvl 28+ now though so hopefully not long until hard mode.

Also don't forget about me taking 20 mins to do the platforming section!

I went with a 27 Hunter Gunslinger using Arc damage weapons due to the modifier. Hardest thing is ensuring you dodge the tank insta kill shots. Once I made it to the boss room I hid behind a set of boxes under the stairs to the left of where the boss first comes out the doors. Had plenty of different angles to shoot out from but the enemies were too big to fit through. Arc damage kills the boss very quickly.

Thanks, I'll be giving it a bash tonight. That location sounds interesting as I tend to hid on the top floor left and dodge missiles, with the use of fusion rifle for minions spawning near by.

For an arc rocket launcher that tracks, should make end boss a breeze.

How did you deal with the shield carrying minions? They don't flinch!
