Thank you very much for the speedy reply! That definitely all sounds good to me!
1) I know this is a very specific question (if I don't try and ask, I'll never know) but is there information on how the cooling system has been upgraded compared to P35W v2? - I don't mean all the really detailed jargon but simply; is there larger fans, more heatpipes, better quality heatsinks or something else along those lines? Again, I know that is a very in-depth question (sorry!).
2) Also, I am planning to upgrade my notebook once I have it in my hands by adding an extra stick of RAM and replacing the HDD with an SSD. Do I void the warranty if I take off the bottom panel in order to upgrade said components (assuming no damage was caused)?
Thanks again.
Hi Cakefish,
1) On the cooling system, no need to apologise, and yes you are correct it will be a combination of all of the elements that contribute to the cooling being improved, increased in size etc.
2) At Gigabyte we aim to make upgrading as simple as we can and the P35 is the best example of this. The ram slots are very easy to access, on the model I use, its 1 screw. There is no warranty void sticker.
HDD and SSD are also very easy to access and upgrade. As you rightly mention the key to not invalidating warranty is not to cause damage. We continue to support the unit with full 2 year warranty (excluding the parts you add/upgrade).
Don't forget though that the P35 chassis has optical bay that is hot-swappable with an additional HDD or SSD - we ship the bracket/enclosure with the laptop (FOC).
Hope that helps,
Regards,
