hows it crap for someones opinion on sli, thats my opinion on running 2 980s in sli (my opinion), just because its not your opinion its crap.
do you run 2 gtx 980s in sli propably not so you dont know how they run on your system.
also if you read my post i say sli is probably ok if you have the time and can be bothered to get it to run correct, obviously like you can.
thanks
Well, I have my ex wife after me for more money, neighbour disputes on going, my car has an intermittent fault. So, in my usual rational way, I have just ordered another 980!! Will be with me tomorrow.
Whilst I may encounter issues, the fact that I can switch it on and off on the fly via individual game profiles, makes it sound like a flexible option. Also, Rome II just simply still needs more power to the engines!
You were telling him it was crap and then saying it might be ok if you had the time. It's just contradictory is all. I'd call that misinformation rather than an opinion but each to their own. Your 4 hours are your own experience and I respect that.
Not had any issues with my sli 680s....i probably will never go back to a single card setup now.
Thanks for the post and info. Well I'm now running 980 sli. There is a reported issue of voltage on sli maxwell not being the same for both cards with the primary being undervolted. It would appear my set up is no different. Apparently a driver issue. However I have had no stability issues and everything seems to be OK. I only get about 16,000 in Firestrike Performance, but again I notice others reporting similar figures.
Rome II doesn't seem to benefit greatly, but Empire Total War luuves sli. So, it seems a general thumbs up, but I wondering if there's more performance yet to come with better drivers and the voltage quirk fix down the line.
