It's not really though is it? You have to stop doing the public event in order to do the loops. If the public event drops you stop doing the loop to play the event, then get awarded with an ascendant 90% of the time at the end of the public event (for first one of the day). The only patrols it works for are the kill enemy ones as you can blast them on the way round, the go here/scan this environment ones mean a chest loop is sidetracking you from playing the mission.

He didn't say patrols, though easy enough to tell what a patrol will be before picking it up. I sort of see you point, while I pick up the bounties such as melee 50 enemies without dying, collect 9000 xp without dying etc while going on a material hunt so technically playing the game it still is a massive grind to do. Luckily for me now I have enough materials that I can upgrade my raid armour to max and my gun to max, I just need to unlock the upgrades and get enough shards.

That's just the thing though, there is nothing stopping them from having enemies drop them as part of their loot like they do with the drops from majors/ultras that sell for 200 glimmer so you would actually have a chance of getting some while doing strikes, it would also be great as a crucible reward for when you don't get an item/engram and would help with people feeling annoyed every time they don't get anything, since something is better then nothing and it's something you would actually use as well.

But no there is nothing wrong with running around the same area for an hour opening random chests, such a great use of playtime.

That i like the sound of, i'd rather have the glimmer items turn into that specific planets loot bounty. I'm constantly at the level cap for glimmer, but have nothing to spend it on. Selling materials at like 1000 glimmer for 20 would be much better.

Constant disconnects and problems logging in the past few days. Seems a lot of others are experiencing the same with no real answers from bungie. Really ruining the experience. Getting tempted to punt it and get Shadow of Mordor and Horizon 2.

Any one up for the weekly or nightfall (level 28) tonight after 10?? Am level 27 Hunter but can hold my own
