Forget 34UM95, here's 34UC97! (CURVED 34")

Thanks for that, elite is playing well but still has a way to go in terms of bugs and network code ie multiplayer, but overall it is as i say amazing so far.

Now to order a card as well, going to sell my 780ti oc edition and buy a 980 me thinks, or i may wait for a newer revision after xmas.

If you have a 780ti wait, wait, wait :)

The Q1 announcements from AMD and NVidia will blow the current 28nm GPUs out of the water, I am confident! The 980, as released, only happened because Apple stole all the 20nm production from NVidia :D. RAM will also increase to 6-8GB next time around, which may become important.

Looks like you got a good one for bleed etc. Jong......now if you could just do something about that view out of the window :p

Here you go, much better... now get outside... ;)

Sold out!

They did not last long at all!

Being on phone to LG all afternoon, we are air freighting the next batch to get them here in about 10 days, they never expected them to sell so quick. More stock here soon! :)

Now do I put my curved one on MM or not... hmm :p

Sorry, I wasn't closely monitoring your experiences with both the curved and flat versions. Did you end up preferring the flat one for being less 'weird' for your work, out of curiosity?

Pretty much yes, the curved is great for games and movies when sat in front of the desk but the curved effect is less beneficial when you slouch back or pull up at the armchair several feet from the screen.

For games though it's truly great. Performance is no different to the flat one and there's some added immersion. The only gripe I have is that with the VESA bracket attached the screen sits about 3 inches further away from the wall than the flat with built in VESA bracket. This amplifies the optical illusion of straight lines being curved when doing photo editing work (for me anyway) unless sitting further back to accommodate this new distance from the screen.

not at all happy, ordered well before cutoff and now im being told the delivery wont be here until tomorrow due to weekend back orders, if ocuk system currently being used isnt capable of meeting demand they need more staff and to look at how they do things, i wouldnt mind but its not the first time.....

Hi All, and Gibbo

First post here and my 2nd purchase from OC.
Ok it looks like I must be the 1st to be unhappy with this monitor :(
Well perhaps I should start off saying this is a fantastic monitor in design and use but quality it fails, well on this one unfortunately.

Now I know from reading some say this is normal and that these monitors have ips glow and bleed around the edges and is not a fault but I’m sorry to say this is and it’s got to stop especially on a monitor that is £1000.
Before ordering this I spoke to a member of staff at OC and expressed my concerns on the quality of some of these LG monitors but was reassured that if there was a problem I could return and exchange or even get a refund. So these gave me confidence in buying the monitor and from OC themselves (albeit no one else selling this at the moment)
So can’t complain at the moment as the monitor arrived promptly the next day and then the moment I was kind of dreading setting it up and turning it on to only find that yes I’m the sucker who has the light bleed!
For a while I tried to imagine it wasn’t there and perhaps I was being picky but then again £1000 I realised I’m not happy at all and to be honest I see this as a fault and would like to return it on the basis that its:

1. Not of satisfactory quality
2. Not fit for purpose ( watching films or playing games is not how it was described by the LG website)
3. Not of satisfactory appearance and finish
4. Not free of minor defects

I know there must be good ones and looking at some others pictures I see there are, so this shouldn’t be a game of luck spending a £1000 and hoping it arrives in satisfactory condition.
Anyway I phoned OC to which I was told that I need to email over some photos, which I did..
Their response as follows:
Thank you for your e-mail.

After viewing the images between management and LG representatives, have advised that the backlight bleed you are experiencing, is not severe enough to be classed as a fault and wouldn't be able to raise an RMA on this product for you under this reason.

Kind Regards,

Please raise a thread on our forum in the monitors section for the attention of Gibbo to see if they have a different opinion.

Which is why I’m posting here.

No names given on emails which I think is not good practice but anyway I emailed back asking how I go about returning the monitor but a day later no response. Still waiting

I’m so fed up with it all to be honest and phoned LG today and spoke with one of their agents and he listened to my concerns and agreed and stated that there is possibility of small light bleed/ips glow but this should be minimal and barely noticeable.
I have since emailed them and sent along some photos asking them if they believe that a £1000 monitor with defects like mine is acceptable…. I’m awaiting there answer.
Just to end this and to note the LG agent said that no LG representative would have been at OC to see my photos I sent them and also had they of been involved this would have been logged.

Finally just want to say I would love to have this monitor but only if it’s of satisfactory quality.
The End

I admit the camera shots are not great but believe me it shows the extent the defect is and I certainly didn't buy this monitor to take photos of it.

I always thought all these bad backlight bleed comments were people being picky but looking at those pictures I would not be accepting that either.

This, this right here is what i was afraid of happening if i were to of purchased the monitor last week, which i was 99% about to do and then i decided to hold some reservation and and see how some people have come off from the first 100 being sold on overclockers. Spending £1000 on a monitor and having bleeding however server is just as bad as having a dead pixels or a broken stand.

You are within 14 days so just return it and demand a refund.

Remember you have consumer rights!

Going by the recent responses from OCUK, it sounds like LG or/and ocuk are getting fed up with the amount of RMA's for these ultrawide LG monitors and are just trying to fob people of now.....

My guess is that it is more LG's doing as when I contacted them about my second one, they told me that was normal and just to reduce the brightness and use in a bright room  Thankfully OCUK/Bailey seen it as a fault.

Honestly, I just advise everyone to avoid LG at all costs now, terrible company with terrible QC.

Hi Nexus,

Yeah I realise that but reading a comment from the thread about the guy who had similar to mine issues with the 29" OC told him that he needs to send this back via his own couriers as again according to OC this is not a fault which angered me even more!
To be fair OC haven't replied to my email on how I go about returning for a refund, so I will see but to me this should be returned as faulty, end of

Just to say to OC I am happy to pay the carriage charge back if you arrange the collection as on your part and good will you paid to send it to me.

I believe that LG should have a rethink on quality control and I think us as consumers should not put up with substandard goods and also let it be heard.

Really wanted this monitor too :(

It really is infuriating, i was so looking forward to this monitor and yes it has already had great reviews and most people seem to love it but then the other 50% all seem to be showing some bleeding, some small but for the majority its incredibly noticeable and how anyone in their right mind can not see this as a defect and just shrug it off as something everyone will experience and just be part of the monitor is just unacceptable.
And now im not sure what to purchase, sitting here with a £2500 pc from overclockers and for the past 2 months im still using my rubbish little 22" Samsung SyncMaster P2050.
