Is it discriminatory to dislike manga fans?

Magnolia, you forget that I've been here long enough to know about how you act on this subject. I don't need to tell a troll like you about anything when you already have an encyclopedic knowledge of the subject from personal experience.

I would say that it's ignorant (and obvious enough) to think that an animation which is aimed at an adult audience and to be broadcast at midnight is exactly the same as one that is aimed at children and to be broadcast on a Saturday morning ... whether the former is Japanese animation or series like Family Guy / King of the Hill makes no difference.

Are there anime/manga which are strange and distasteful by our standards ... yes. Are there people who take it all may be a little to seriously ... yes. Are all pillow carrying, Ironwarrior wannabes ... no.

WTF, Urotsukidoji is one of the most messed up films ever. I remember watching it when I was 13 and didn't know what was going on.
 
I've turned off some shows half way through because they were too... Questionable.
I remember one about tanks, where in the first episode one character said to the other "woah, how are your boobs so big, how old are you" and the child like character with g cups said "13" I stopped watching then. And ignored every further recommendation from the person who recommended me that one.

There are still lots of ones that are aimed at adults or adolescents which don't stray into such illegal natures, and so I don't dismiss the medium and still read some manga/manwha series.

I dislike them when they try to tell me my view on eating meat isn't valid. Think about that ;)

It is more ignorance than anything else.

People that have heard from a friend from a friend that it's all perverted / whatever.

Everyone who I have introduced to Anime loves it.
(Anime = Film / series, Manga = Comics)

It is just another form of media. You get kids stuff, crime drama, mecha, thriller, horror, pr0n (hentai), comedy, rom com...
What you get in normal live televised stuff, you get in Anime.
Just it happens to be animated.

That's it.
There's no difference to normal western media other than it is animated.
(And due to Japan's different moral code from most western cultures, occasional up-skirt shots etc that we find not quite right)

-Want a crime drama which is excellent, includes "Death Gods" which is from Japanese culture: Death Note
-Want Mecha, the end of the human race: Evangelion (The original series is very good)
-Want comedy / young love / fluffyness: Chobits
-Want easy watching, nice story: Anything Studio Ghibli (except Grave of the Fireflies, even I had wet eyes at that one)
-Futuristic with mind powers: Akira
-Want an idea of the future with android bodies, questioning what it is to be human: Ghost in the Shell films. (The series are also v good)
-Want Pr0n, there's some Hentai although think you have to have a special way of brain working to find it erotic in any way :P Sorry, don't have any examples :o
-Kids stuff: Gurran Laggan is aimed at maybe early teens although is very enjoyable.

So I agree it is a little discriminatory, but mainly ignorance of the masses.
If you've not watched Anime, you are missing out on an art form as good as normal western media like Game of Thrones / Kill Bill / etc etc.
