Exceeds marked bay area - really?

Fair enough, I'm just explaining why people may have misconstrued your post. :)

No problem.

My issue underlaying my point is one of culture actually, that was the bigger point I am pointing towards. We all mess up, but my view is we should own the mess up not try and find reasons how it wasn't out fault. I get nicked for speeding I am annoyed, I think the fine and points are a pain and I would rather not have them, but I sped so my mistake and I take it. I park like and ass and someone calls me on it, tough. £100 is madness and frankly I would imagine would not stand up but I'd fight that aspect not the fact I was a prat for parking like that, which is the wrong angle and frankly a loosing one I'd suggest. Go in and say "it was terrible parking, I parked like a bum, but your fine is a crock" and you have sympathy.

OP this is not aimed at you old boy, not trying to urinate on your chips, just using it as an example. This forum is full of people rightly speaking about people who seem unable or unwilling to take personal responsibility in our society today and this is just one such example, though fine does not fit the crime, no question.

Yes I totally agree, and to be honest personally I would never park like that because I'd be worried about someone bumping into the car over those two spaces it is taking up a good deal of as well.

Parking is a pain in public areas due to the lack of personal responsibility of those around us, often. Ive had arguments with people in the past, when sitting in my car they have banged my car but chosen to moan at me for not appreciating how hard it was with children or that it's not big deal, it's only a car. In Housey world they would be sponged death, but then I've always been a bit right wing I suppose. As you get old the smaller things in life do get you more wound up about it as you see people losing manners, principals and responsibility for their actions. I find that sad, but ever was it thus, I'm certainly not perfect when it comes to doing stupid stuff, I like to think I own the problems I create when I am a daft lad however.

That's fair enough, I read it just like the other guy did.

Would anybody :confused::eek::cool:

i loved it 2.9 v6 and it was the grosvenor which is the mayors version the dorchester is the funeral version. the grosvenor has two elongated doors and one row of back seats with rear facing fold down seats behind the driver and passenger. the gap between felt like it shouldve had a table. it earnt me some money and free entry to the dogs when i took my dad and his mates.

apparently this one was originally maroon but was resprayed this colour as it would be more popular. it was posh rotten it turned out and inner and outer sills i was quoted £400 a side from colman milne one off pressings as they just keep the patterns no stock.

was easy to spot in sainsburys on a saturday lunchtime just look for a que of cars in both directions and its in the centre of that isle haha as it stuck out quite far. used to get tuts from some people. i just used to say look where the back is i cant park in the wall or the car behind!

Sounds like your car is not suitable for that carpark then. You can't just take up extra spaces in the same way as I somewhat doubt a bloke in a tractor unit could take up six spaces because 'Yea it doesnt fit mate'.

Taking up an extra couple of feet isn't the same as taking up 6 spaces though is it!

It's similar if it prevents a regular sized car from using the space you've decided to part occupy because your ability to drive an enormous car is more important than everyone elses ability to use the carpark ;)

I don't see how we should have carte blance to inconvenience others simply because we've made the personal choice to purchase enormous cars to drive ourselves around in on our own :p

As far as i'm aware, they say the vehicle has to fit within the space and should not overhang the bay, similar to double yellow lines.

I wasn't aware this was the case with yellow lines? I've parked numerous time in marked on street bays where my front or rear bumper has overhung on to yellow lines (due to limited space). I'm yet to be penalised for doing so. Although granted my overhang is minuscule relative to the 5 Series :p

That is some terrible parking and I'm with Fox on this one. Personal choice shouldn't inconvenience other people. If you choose to drive a large car then park somewhere it fits. Today the only space left for me to park my Golf was a bay with a massive 4x4 overhanging into it. It's a right pain when people are so inconsiderate. I managed to get it in but opening my boot was impossible as a result. Mind you, he or she would have had to drive their car out before they could get to their boot too. But that's their own fault.

People who drive large cars lack consideration when parking like that.
