My fish seem to be going mad for broccoli, much more so than they ever have for cucumber.

People say they like squashes, but mine didn't really take to pumpkin.

So far, mine love cucumber, courgette, broccoli, carrots, green beans and peas. I might try and experiment with melon or grapes at some point. :)

I've even heard about some people using banana.

90cm is a bit small for a marine imo. Rules out tangs and all the best marine tanks have a tang or two.

I like the idea it's lightless though. So often these bundles have included substandard lighting. Much better to give the customer the choice.

I would rather have a 120cm tank which would fit,TMC have yet to release this model, but i don't think i could fit the VorTech wave makers on the side which i what i want, the Mrs won't let me have the bigger alcove :(

Hi all,

Could someone recommend an external filter?

It's to replace a Fluval 205 which seems to be on its way out, it's also a pig to start, often taking 20-30 mins of unplugging, priming and trying all sorts to finally get it started after cleaning.

The tank is 125L with little planting, no CO2 etc so flow rates aren't of extreme importance, something that is easy to clean and get started would be most ideal.

Maximum budget is £100, although if something is appropriate for less, the better.

I've so far looked at Fluval 206's where people state its a much improved design over the 205 but there's still plenty of people complaining of it being a pain to start, being loud etc. I've also looked into a EHEIM ecco pro 300 which seems decent although apparently the handles a pain with some people even managing to snap them off, also a few problems with starting.

Any recommendations would be much appreciated, thanks.

I put the rest of the substrate in that I had left over, so as to mould the plants in a little better. The tank is looking lovely and crystal clear. :)

I bought some flourish (a seachem product) from charterhouse, and although early days, it does seem to be doing better than the 'tnc lite' did.

Look up plymstarr on the bay, have used them to set up many tanks over the years no real problems

I did use aquaessentials once over £150 on plants and they were fantastic, but £50 on with above seller had very close results to the other tank

ok weird thing has just happened - I was doing morning feed and dose of my main tank when something caught my eye in my disused for a couple of weeks quarantine tank. I looked closer and realised it was a tiny killifish fry. I am amazed. Two possibilities, one is the killis were in there a few weeks back before I decommissioned it, the other I did throw some plants out of the main tank into there...I've now spotted another

I've no idea how they survived. I'm now going to attempt to keep them alive, turned the heater and filter back on, going to do a water change asap

will get a picture if I can, they are tiny! if I put them in the main tank they'll just be eaten

My Corydoras fry are growing fast. I've counted 6 of them so far but there could be more. Tried a get a couple of photos but they're just too fast.
