Anyone destroyed all their old stuff yet? I don't have the heart

Only Vanguard gear so far and a few older legendarys for the various shards. With the exception of the exotics I will shard the rest as I get viable replacements.
Got my legendary gauntlets and hate them more than the previous set, they look like someone has used plaster to stick some poo to the shoulders (I assume it's supposed to be fur).

It is soo disappointing to see Bungie go this route as it makes zero sense for a game about loot and progression to wipe all progression especially when there isn't all that much variety in the loot compared to larger MMOs.The biggest thing that will be stopping me from swapping out the gear is A the loot drops are still to few and far between to be hyped for items resets and B this is just going to happen again in March when the next DLC hits?
Same as me minus the fur. My new VG gauntlets (33 light) look crap compared to my old Iron Banner ones but are required to hit level 31. I am not breaking my Iron banner or Raid stuff as I have loads of vaults space and they still allow me to hit level 30 on my alt Warlock with only the helmet shared.

I got rid of some of my old vanguard legendaries.
Haven't broken down all of them yet though, probably will once I have some fully levelled DLC gear. (If I had full VoG set, I would keep it in vault though).
Not enough vault space and need the mats so might as well get rid of them. Didn't like the look of the old armor much anyway, and never had a full set of anything, so meh.
Would like to get a full set of fully upgraded crota gear this time around however, now that loot drops are hopefully fixed to stop me getting the same gun 4x in a row and 0 armor drops...

You don't need Commendations for all of the gear just some, it makes sense as originally to get the gear you had to get rank 2 or 3 which meant that you'd have to farm some rep etc.

Decided to come back and see if the DLC improves things at all.
Managed to purchase the new vanguard legs which bumped me from light 26 to 27 but other then that I haven't managed to find a single upgrade since the DLC launched which is quite disappointing when all i see everywhere is people complaining that they have already deleted all their old gear.

You need the commendation for Chest piece, helmet and weapons. Gauntlets & boots don't need it.
It is a pain but ultimately to afford the armour / weapons in the first place you will need to grind marks (and rep) anyway.
So on the cosmodrome, in the old loot cave, there's this pile of stuff on the floor that you can activate with "Disturb the remains" or something similar. I couldn't figure out exactly what it did?
Also, when I was going through Skywatch from the Mothyards, I found a thrall crouched in a corner hiding. When I hit him a "The servant of the hand has been disturbed" message appeared and a few waves of thralls/cursed etc and a yellow knight 'Hand of Crota' appeared. Anything more to this or is it just a random thing to get enemies to spawn?
A bit annoying the Eris bounties, as there are loads of people trying to do the same quests, get the sword etc. Although I do like the class specific bounties.

That is one of the Eris bounties / quest items. There are three like this.

Just been reading the bungie forums, lol there sure are some opinions flying around over there 
But it's a bit galling seeing the expansion sell for $15 in the US, under half the price of it for us in the UK, must cost a great deal to ship all that data over the Atlantic and add import duties and VAT to it :/
