*** The Official Destiny Thread (now includes 2.0 and TTK) ***

It's there's plenty of variety in bounties to do now....before DLC if you had done raid/nightfall/dailies/bounties and were capped on vanguard/crucible there was really no point in playing except for drops.

The new bounties are generally pretty interesting too. Managed to land in the middle of one of those occasional wars that break out, twas on the cosmodrome between hive and fallen....sat on a vantage point and rained gjallahorn down on them :D

Anyone want to play new weeklys, nightfalls etc I'm up for it on xbox one? (add me)

Level 29 defender

Much to do on solo with the new content if no one is on? :p

Give me a shout if you see me on. Need to do weekly again for a new Bad juju bounty. Make sure you do the DLC content to unlock the strike :)

Will do Dr Pharmacology. I'm guessing the solo quests you do can be solo'd?

I've got a bad juju but now all my old weapons are redundant

Curses, got fairly into the demo of this last night. Meant to purchase the PS3 version before 2pm today... Ugh!
Hopefully will be on sale again soon!

Edit: Just saw the Amazon price, nice. :)
Amazon Prime to be cancelled immediately afterwards! :D

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA xD

That is how I feel right now. I would struggle explaining the currencies of the base game to friends but now I'm feeling 10x more lost with these shard, levels, Vanguard level ups and everything @.@ I know it is very similar to the base game but it just all seems so pointless now it does actually seem like Bungie are purposely trying to slow down progression as much as possible which isn't that big of a deal. There is no gameplay design to support longer progression there just isn't enough content or variety.

I think I'll still have fun in the Raid and such but I have zero goals I want to accomplish in Destiny now where as before I would want to chase the random loot drops or level up my gun while completing tasks to gain more loot. Where as now I'm demoralised enough by learning all my gear is junk and that even finding new gear is going to be a royal pita to actually level up is just even more demoralising :(

It just make me super sad as there is soooooooo much potential in Destiny but is bogged down by all this bogus game design. To me it kind of feels like 20% of Bungie dev team is working on these DLC packs and the rest are working on Destiny 2 or a larger DLC pack due out the end of next year (one would hope) with 70% of that 20% being made up of designers and community feedback staff. Saying that I bet all the changes made up to this date are mostly what were planned before the game release we have all seen that the content in the DLC was nearly all on the disk baring maybe the Raid and MP maps plus a little bit of polish. The lack of new cutscenes and story in this pack considering all the information coming for the community manger is "we heard you, DLC pack one is focused on delivering a strong narrative experience".
NB: This is from the raid thread but didnt want such a discussion there - the above struck a chord with me and so required a reply:

Its obvious they are trying to stretch the thin content - I dont blame you for your reaction, mines similar. Raid discovery keeps me content, but Bungie have ensured I wont touch the next expansion pass.

There were far better ways to serve the community both DLC and non-DLC, but Bungie went out of their way to do neither. I dont get it myself, I feel completely alienated - Ive stopped doing dailies, bounties or purposefully levelling up new armour/weapons knowing the probable futility of my efforts when the next DLC hits...

Its upsetting to see a developer who just doesnt get the community their game has garnered. Im not one for MMO-like games so maybe this is normal practise

Materials! Pick as many of these up as possible as you play through. You'll be needing them later. You can buy them too but they're expensive and you'll need your marks to buy decent armour and weapons if none drops.

It's only normal practice for Activision supported games in my experience.
Their parternship with Blizzard has constantly produced sub-par games (compared to expectations) which offer little challenge, but are designed to extract maximum $$$ from their playerbase.
As long as we keep buying em, they keep making em :-\

damn, I'm maxing out my Vanguard marks now without even stepping into the strike playlist.

+ there is very little incentive to actually play the strike playlist when you are sitting at 100/100 marks :-\

Yeah I nearly forgot about the marks from patrols.

But disappointed they added a way to buy materials, then added new content that means you have to save the marks for something else. That said, balancing MMOs is far harder than most people imagine, it's always an evolving process.

LVL 30 AT LONG LAST SHOOP DA WHOOP!

F U VoG RNG!

Maxed out 2 vanguard pieces = GG

Just a head's up guys:

Hitting lvl 32 before Crota hard mode lands is probably going to be VERY difficult.
Raid armor needs 21x Radiant Shards to upgrade.

I think only people with multiple characters of the same class will be able to enter Crota's raid on hard mode on release...

Getting lvl 31 isn't all that hard though, hell you can do it with just vanguard gear maxed out :S

Finally managed to suppress my rage enough to log back into Destiny today, and was pleasantly surprised. Quite a lot of stuff that I had assumed was in the DLC was actually available without the DLC. The new vanguard and crucible legendary armour and weapons from the tower vendors, it was available. Even Eris was there at the tower. So it looks like that £20 buys you 2 disappointing story missions with no story in them, 2 strikes (1 if you're unfortunate enough to play on the XBone), and a raid. Everything else seems to have been a freebie. Seriously? Seems to me the only reason to buy the DLC now is to not be inconvenienced every time the daily or weekly rolls around to a DLC-only level.

If xur allows me to upgrade one of my exotic helmets this week, I'll have everything I need to reach level 31, which seems almost too easy.

Just to check: is Vault of Glass dropping light +36 armour now like the crota raid? The new vendor armour is better than the old VoG armour, so I assume it must have had some upgrade, otherwise there's no point ever playing it again?
