Not really too sure why they'd use incindiary or explosives in a hostage situation. I just hope nones badly injured physically.
Those were flash bangs. If not that was a hell of a lot of bullets for one bloke.

incendires would have been the terrorist. and the police use explosive breaching charges.
think it was reported earlier he had a shotgun.
CNN reporting 2 are dead.

2 man breach team, seems oddly planned.
Maybe they have different techniques than us but the team throwing in the thunderflashes would surely been blinding the first 2 men in.
Hope the collateral damage isn't too high, sadly in these situations there would be some, even the best teams in the world account for it.
I heard a shotgun too
If it was a shotgun, I could only imagine if it was discharged up close it would have been quite difficult to sustain only non life threatening injuries
There were more than 2. One of the news feed showed two going in one door and another showed multiples going in another door with yet more who kept tossing flash bang grenades in.
Depends what the shotgun cartridges were loaded with.
Clay pigeon loads feature very small shot which can be stopped by fairly light clothing at same room ranges.
