What did you do to your bike today?

I fancy a project next. One of my frustrations with this bike is that I couldn't really do much with it on a crap weather day apart from look at it and clean it.

Epic bike. Not entirely sure of the actual reason you sold it though? You thought it had the better of you, discovered its true capabilities, then sold it because you didn't fancy riding it on a crap weather day? That could apply to any bike.

That wasn't the reason for the sale. A recent move to a Mon-Fri work schedule, the arrival of baby number 2 and trying to fit a masters degree in around it all meant I never got the time to ride it. I was barely able to do 100 miles a month and a quick cost/benefit calculation meant taking the decision to move it on. I'd absolutely have kept it if I had the time to ride it or if it didnt have a significant amount of further depreciation on the horizon.

Didn't get a lot of sleep last night and realised I was taking a corner a little too fast a little too late and in my sleep deprived state just snatched the front brake and the bike disappeared from under me. It's just shown me that you can't start getting complacent on these things, it could have been much worse.

Took it out for thirty or so miles after lunch today, did some country lanes, behind lorrys for the most part so I was able to take a leisurely pace and it was very enjoyable. Pretty cold on the thighs though and quite a bit of wind but my bike seems to be performing very well, I do need to change the oil at some point though...

Few more bits on the GSXR this weekend :)

Got some captive wheel spacers, much nicer to change on your own now.

Some new cottonreels so they fit the new stand better

Sorted out a few undamaged bits of plastic trim stuff needed for the side panels, so now they can be fitted properly to the bike.

Got a new middle rear coming as an xmas present, and some carbon front ram air covers coming for my bday in March, so just a headlight and front top fairing to sort :D

Had a few hours out on the bike today, Went over to R&S tyres to get some new rubber but the bloke is having a Op so is closed till Jan 7th. Spent the rest of the time riding just for the sheer pleasure of it.

Went to and from work in the pouring rain.
Was kind of scary as the rain completely covered my visor, had to put my visor up as I couldn't see anything. I wear glasses so shortly my glasses got as bad and I had to be super defensive as I couldn't see much.
Anyone recommend some rain repellent on the cheap or something that works just as-well?

Wipe with the finger of your glove. You can also buy little squeegee things that go on your glove finger. Also if travelling fast enough, not town speeds really, turning your head left for a few seconds, then right, or vice versa, will help shift the rain.

Wiping your visor in rain becomes second nature.

A lot of winter gloves have a soft section for wiping visors. Even if they don't, they work quite well anyway. I always wipe with the back of my index finger - does a good job and never scratches. I'd rather a few scratches over time than never being able to see in the rain.

Also, clean your visor with Mr. Muscle (original). It has wax so will give your visor a layer meaning a lot of the rain should roll off. Works well for me, especially in finer misty rain.

Removed most of the dodgy stickers from my Chinese dream machine. Tank stickers seem to be stuck on there a whole lot better so not done that yet!

WD40, hairdryer, and a soft plastic scraper like a car trim removal tool or a credit card. Take it slow and be careful not to scratch the paintwork.

Who's the maker of your visor? HJC specifically state RainX is suitable for use on their visors, so I use that. Works well as the water beads up and runs off much more easily.

My bikes filthy & looks like I've been a Courier for a month, Even my mate said it looks filthy, I spend all my time riding it rather than cleaning it. :p Think I'm going to get it out for a Blast then if I'm back before it gets dark I might even clean it.

Had 2 hours out on it & now it's to dark to clean it properly so she's tucked up in the shed again still dirty as hell.
Can't believe I had 3 hours yesterday & 2 hours or so today, Awesome weather for the time of year.

Fitted the cheap Bluetooth headset I got for Xmas to my helmet. It's one of the £30-35 ones and I haven't used it properly yet but for the price it seems pretty good. My arai has ear recesses for speakers and a gap in the shell to inner bonding for the clamp, fitted with no problems at all, apart from the wire connecting to the unit it's invisible. Seems to go loud enough too, tested with earplugs in.

Doesn't have the voice features like sena and Scala do, but voice dialing works fine, and google now does too if the phone is unlocked.
