Linx 10.1 inch Windows 8 Tablet - Any good?

How are we all getting on with these tablets?

I didn't get my 10" in the flash sale, but Argos with the keyboard for £180. I did pick a couple of 8" though from staples on the cheap.

Seriously nice bits of kit for the money.

One thing I've noticed with the 10" is that the rubber is coming off the camera edge because the case rubs it. Hopefully it will only go so far and then stop.

Now I have these tablets floating around, I'm disappointed most of the games I've downloaded don't synchronise...Bridge constructor, Armed etc.

thinking of buying one of these for Hearthstone. could some kind fellow try running it and see how it runs (if the gameplay is laggy etc). I think the 2GB RAM on the 10" will make a noticeable difference

would be much appreciated! :)

These things definitely need better heatsinks on them. Locked to 500mhz after playing osu for an hour:

Has anyone tried to read a PDF magazine on the 8" version? I need a cheap tablet for 50% video watching and 50% PDF/ebook reading, but I'm concerned about the low resolution (188ppi).

EDIT: Argh, it doesn't support USB charging. That could be a deal-breaker :(
EDIT #2: Unless I've misunderstood what "Your device does not support USB charging" means in the manual. Does it mean that you can't charge other USB devices with the tablet, but the tablet itself can be charged via USB?

Well, the 10" model doesn't charge via usb, only via charger, which it comes with.

As above 10" version comes with dc port for charging and AFAIK can't be charged via USB (directly), 7 and 8 charge via USB but you can't use other USB peripherals with it while charging via USB. The USB ports have fairly low power output so wouldn't be able to charge another device themselves other than stuff that only need ~100-200mA.

Ah okay, that's perfect then. I'll probably never have a USB device attached but being able to use my portable battery charger is imperative for trips.

So has anyone tried to read a PDF/ebook on one of these? I was disappointed with the iPad Mini 1's screen, and Linx 8" only has a few more PPI that that.

As above. I think the manuals are not edited properly.

These things are fantastic. If they could have squeezed better batteries in I think this could be a serious game changer. Windows 8 also need to have a proper metro only environment for kids.

While not the Linx I've read through a few PDFs on an 8" 1280x800 toshiba and to be frank the experience was far inferior for that than the 1920x1200 on my 10" Xperia Tablet Z.

That's what I feared. What a shame :( Thanks for letting me know but it looks like I'll have to spend more to get a decent experience.

Not sure if its been mentioned but if you have a 4 conductor (3 ring) phone jack the headphone socket works as both headphones out and mic in on these tablets.
