Linx 10.1 inch Windows 8 Tablet - Any good?

So has anyone tried to read a PDF/ebook on one of these? I was disappointed with the iPad Mini 1's screen, and Linx 8" only has a few more PPI that that.

I charge mine Linx 8 with an Anker Astro 5 and it works perfectly :)
 
Has anyone managed to get Windows 10 Technical Preview fully working on the linx 10. I can get it to install and make the touch screen work correctly, but I can't get the wireless to work. The driver installation won't install and I can't cancel it. And if I force it to shutdown to get out of the installer it totally breaks the Windows installation.

I had found new Realtek RTL8723BS Wifi/BT driver last month and installed over default old driver Linx supplied, worked great so you could try it see if you can get new driver install on Windows 10 without issue.

I had been read PDFs on my Linx 10, very enjoyed read ebook in my bed after enabled DPI scaling on Windows 8.1. Linx 10 has 188 PPI, not far from Surface Pro 3's 207 PPI which is not very impressive for very expensive 12 inch tablet I had experienced with it at Currys, I can clearly see very small pixels on 2160x1440 screen and Surface stylus was not very good as my Dagi P702 stylus. Hopefully Surface Pro 4 will be a massive improvement over Surface Pro 3. Tablet Z has 224 PPI but cannot beaten 2 years old Nexus 10 with impressive 300 PPI. Ipad Mini 1 was terrible with 163 PPI with 1024x768 resolution.

Doesn't work unfortunately. The installer says no compatible hardware found.

If I install it manually it comes up in device manager and it shows the wireless device. But it won't enable at all.

Done some more testing and it does the same as the linx drivers. It stops the Tablet from being able to restart and requires a hard reset. After the hard reset it gets stuck on the boot screen and I have to use a win 10 boot drive to get back into the system.

Oh brilliant find. :) That driver is newer version 3007.5.0815.2014, downloaded it on Linx 10 and installed it, worked great. Glad the new driver is compatible with Windows 10.

Yeah everything seems to work well on Windows 10. Just need to figure out how to WIMBoot it and I'm all set.
 
You might find up to date drivers for the 'Schenker Element Tablet' also work. You need to google it to find the website as they sell other things.

Found the website but Wifi, BT and G-Sensor drivers are older than Linx drivers. I bookmarked website to keep eye on it for update drivers in future.
 
Thinking of maybe treating myself to one of these, i was a little put off by the screen resolution as i was looking for something that has 1920x1080 but the reviews seem to be pretty dam good for these. I have an ipad mini but i wont lie i have always preferred windows over anything else and with this being a full windows 8 install as well its a no brainer surely? Thinking of the 10" version

Are these good for picking up and just browsing the web etc? Wasnt sure how easy it would be to do quick simple tasks like this on a windows platform especially on a tablet

Yeah they seem to work well for the casual front of the TV browsing tablet, but I was one of the lucky ones that got the deal from staples and traded in an old HP touchpad so it was a no brainier. Takes a little getting use to Windows 8.1 on a tablet as only ever used it on a standard non touch screen pc, and have tweaked the font size so it makes it easier.

Have tested the reset function not just want to see if I can play with the bios a little and see what else I can get it to load
 
Thanks very much for that mate, just need to decide weather to take the plunge and pick one of these up! Seem to be around the £160 mark at the mo. I had looked at smaller models but thought the extra ram in the 10" would keep things running a little smoother
