I was hoping you would say that. Evans have it at the same price as the site above, so I'll pop in on the way home from work tomorrow and pick one up. I work pretty much next door to Evans. So much temptation on a daily basis.

What do people think to Cole C24 Lite 700C Clincher Wheelset? Was after Fulcrum 5 but these are similar money (about £200) and are lighter/stronger?

I have a Giant Defy 2 with S-R2 wheels - weighing about 2-2.2kg?

Thinking about upgrading my wheelset and getting back training - not been on the bike in 2 months due to working away!

Ended up with Mavic Aksium wheels - come with tyres and innertubes for £198 from Evans. Completely spontaneous.

The fact they come with tyres on already is great as I can do a straight weight comparison - already seen they have aero spokes but they seem lighter to feel.

1735g V about 2000-2200g for the S-R2 rims?

I have a thought about you work cycling 'problem', are there other businesses next to you who would be willing for you to use their facilities to secure your bike? Others will be more sympathetic to cyclists than your current employer, especially if they are cyclists themselves!

Yeh I did think about that, but it's not really viable.

The company directly behind us is a no go (sister company). Next is a BT exchange, and I won't be allowed in there. To be honest I wouldn't trust the other businesses round here. It's locked and insured, which should be enough.

Brooks Cambium C15 arrived for the Brompton today. Good Lord, it's a keeper. Incredibly comfortable right from the off. It's even nicer to sit on than the black Selle San Marco Rolls I had on before (from the defunct SSCX). I've got a white Rolls on the SS and it seems more confortable than the black as well though.

I'll have to be careful it though, or I may end up with them on the SS and CX as well.

I believe a lot of shops are offering loan ones. It's worth trying.

On the down side, the 52t ring for the CX hasn't arrived so no ride for me tomorrow. :(

I'm guessing a seat is a very personal choice? Mine currently gives me a bit of bum ache on rides over an hour or so, I think my LBS let you try a few out.

I will be :)

Taken some holiday between christmas and new year for the first time ever :p Vague plans of 500miles rather than kilometres but we'll see what happens.
Hopefully make a big dent in it on boxing day.

Oh, Touch, you lazy *****!

Icy weather put an end to my plans of 500 miles.
Being lazy nearly put an end to the 500k! Managed to salvage it in the last couple of days, luckily the weather is a bit warmer now and the ice is gone from the roads.

3rd ride: http://www.strava.com/activities/234931035

No faster overall, 10 seconds slower, (a repeat of my 2nd ever ride) though bags full of trophies :) (took their time to come through!) guess I got a bit lazy on the easier bits. That said it was Heavy leg day at the gym yesterday which probably didn't help.

That said feet still frozen :p

The ride as a whole, and also climbing, was much more comfortable as I start to anticipate things, use the gears more effectively, move around on the saddle a bit more, ditched underwear and have become more familiar with the bike.

Right calve was cramping at points, need to mobilise these a bit more regularly.

It's worth trying a few. I have a Madison flux (same as a charge spoon) on one bike and a charge scoop on the other. I probably prefer the flux/spoon, but the scoop is beautifully made and looks better.

Scoop is seamless isn't it. Much easier on the cycling shorts than rubbing against stitching.

I feel your pain, before I got my bike I checked with my manager if I could leave it inside the building,he was more than willing to let me,I now have my own little room with heating and electric, does make me feel better about riding to work and having a secure place to leave a £1000 bike.

I've picked up a black first release Charge Spoon ie smooth leather and no suede bits. Looking forward to giving it a go.
