PSN Friday 02/01/15 20:30 start time.
VOG Hard mode first, then Crota's End (cheese) if time permits.

1)- Zoomeez - Level 31 Hunter
2)- Psycho Sonny - Level 31 Hunter
3)
4)- AStaley - Level 31 Titan
5)- Rich_UK3 - Level 31 Titan

Sorry guys, not gonna make tonight. Will be doing my raiding over the weekend instead. Realised I have zero glimmer and I will only have a limited time online tonight and it's gonna have to be spend glimmer farming!

Can anyone else really not be arsed with CE? The more I go back and play VoG the more I realised what a load of turd CE is. I think they have to allow a path to upgrade the VoG raid weapons.

If you need an extra person over the weekend let me know. I have done the Atheon CP and Crota CP already this week but want to run the raids for all the other drops. Depending on if/when you are running the raids I definitely can run twice as I have two level 31 Warlocks. My hunter is currently only 29 but I have the armour for 31, just need to grind glimmer and engrams for sapphire wire.

While I can't specifically put my finger on why as the underlying structure is the same, I agree with CE and don't enjoy it as much as VoG. Which is surprising considering I have run CE a handful of times compared to probably 20+ with VoG. CE is a means to an end though, drops armour and mats to get to 32.

Would be up for this still really want the Vex, it might drop for me one day :p. Titan/warlock lvl 31 not sure which one.

Probably because it's boring as ****! The mechanics are insanely simple and it's half the length of VoG. Our group beat crota twice within half an hour last night, no cheeses with only 2 level 32's. Once everyone is level 32 it'll be completed first time, every time. Really hope house of wolves is better!

I assume just the Crota CP in 30 mins, that isn't any different to Atheon. Get a good group together with decent weapons and you can smash Atheon in 3 teleports or add a Titan with weapons of light and you can do it in 2.

Why is CE boring and VoG not? Take out the specifics and consider the raids, 5 of the fireteam must kills ads, kill specific respawning enemies while the 6th member holds an item which can damage the boss of the section - this fits both the Templar in VoG and the bridge seciton in CE. How about the fireteam needs to defend specific areas for a period of time from waves of respawning enemies - this fits the sync plates on VoG and the lamps in CE.

Ultimately I agree with you and many others who think CE isn't as good as VoG but, as I said above, I can't specifically put my finger on why.

The thing what's killed CE for me is the Cheesing. I've done the raid loads of times now, both legitimately and cheese and it's now more of a chore than fun. I now prefer to just cheese it and get the drops as quickly as possible.

I'm surprised they've left all the cheeses in place so for long, I can only assume there all off on there Christmas holidays, but it's really killed the raid.

I really do like the game but hope they can come up with something better for the next DLC.

Most people would struggle with doing atheon twice in half an hour, legit, with 2 level 30's and the rest 29's.

The raid is smaller, with noticeably smaller levels and shorter checkpoints.

Less loot drops from raid checkpoints.

Basic and uninvolving enemy design. Not many teams i've played with have had all 6 players running to the end of the thrall maze, much more common for 3-4 to be dead and have one left running.

Crota is nothing like atheon. Atheon has times vengeance so whole team gets to kill him. Crotas shield goes down then the team just watch someone else doing the glory part. It's segmented and uninvolving which makes it boring. Atheon had home and away teams. Crota has some people shoot ads on a tower and some people shoot ads on the floor.

The lamps also dont need defending, you just hover near them till you can run quick again then off to the next one.

The VoG also had the mazes and puzzles in between checkpoints. The size and scale of the levels whilst jumping down platforms and off cliffs was huge. Crotas end has a few corridors.

Definitely, House of Wolves needs to be good. There's been some nice additions in TDB, the upgradable weapons, new bounties. The PS4 exclusive strike with the dirty vex mind is the best one around imo.

I got the Art of Destiny book a couple of days ago (very good art book, recommend it). You can see they put in so much effort into the lore, art and story....but for whatever reason, only the art work made it into the game. They really need to flesh out the whole Traveller/Darkness story, a good length quest chain with decent cut scenes....an end to this stupid situation where everyone wears the same armour, by extending upgrades to legendaries (at least raid ones).

Crota's End is just dreary...and green. The boss fight sucks compared to Atheon. First section is fun but is mechanically easier to do solo. Bridge is so glitched no one ever bothers with it, Deathsinger has no drops. I really like the big jumping sections and Gorgon's Maze in VoG, and the multi-section fights like Confluxes/Oracles/Templar.

I hope the Fallen raid is a bit brighter, above ground, and better paced, with some more puzzle like stages.

We dont need another for sure, im betting i could get 3-4 people on demand if need be, just spam invites if we are short. No point in cancelling it.

we are doing hard mode and tbh a 29 simply just doesn't do enough damage and will get one shotted a lot and there are no revives.

it's doable but can you not level yourself up using the vanguard gear to 30/31? it would make it a lot easier, i don't mind dragging a lower level through story/strikes/weeklies and nightfalls but the raid is a different beast due to no revives.

i'll let zoomee make the decision though as he is the organiser.

but buy the level 33 gear or exotic from xur level 36 and do as many bounties as you can to level it up, that one level will make such a big difference in the raid.

I thought so no worries. I am about to go lvl 30 anyway just need to upgrade that stupid chest i got from the vanguard but probably wont make it tonight as i am missing 2 shards. Have fun and hopefully from next run will be able to make it. Ill try to get a VOG run (normal or heroic) to get some shards

To be fair, when the rest of the group is 30 or even 31, there should be no issue having one or two people at 29. Before the level increase, I'd never completed VoG hard with a full team of 30s.

Not a problem bud - We should be able to make it easy peasy as long as you've run VoG before ;)

Can we all make sure we're on either mine or one of the others friends list please - hopefully start getting together about 8:20 for an 8:30 kick off, thanks.
 
Right i have done vog but Atheon never dropped because of the pug groups i am going. So to be fair if there is another person needing to do Atheon feel free to put someone else in spot no 6.

as long as you know what your doing its kool dude! - We all used to be Level 29 at one point! ;)

With so many Level 31's its not going to be a problem.
